One of the greatest kickboxers of all time - 6 world titles across 5 weight classes, with a career record that was virtually unbeaten over 27 years. He started as a non-contact karateka before transitioning to full-contact when the discipline was introduced in the USA in 1974. His ability to adapt and dominate across wildly different rulesets and fighting styles set him apart from everyone else. Urquidez travelled the world to fight, taking on opponents in Japan and Europe under varying rules - often with the odds stacked against him. He emerged victorious nearly every time, building a reputation as one of the most dangerous and complete strikers of his era. Beyond fighting, he became a respected martial arts choreographer and actor, showcasing his skills in Hollywood films and bringing kickboxing to a global mainstream audience.
