Ivan Hippolyte was born on 7 October 1964 in Suriname and grew up in the Netherlands. Multiple world kickboxing champion and one of the most respected figures in Dutch combat sports - both as a fighter and as a trainer. He trained alongside Ernesto Hoost at Vos Gym in Amsterdam, the same gym where he later became chairman and head coach. His eye for talent and ability to develop fighters proved exceptional - among those he coached are Remy Bonjasky (3x K-1 World Champion) and Mirko Cro Cop, both of whom credit Hippolyte for key parts of their development. As a fighter, Hippolyte was a powerful, technically sound heavyweight who held multiple world titles. As a coach, his impact has been even greater. Vos Gym under his leadership became one of the most respected combat sports gyms in the Netherlands.
