Regilio Tuur
Regilio Tuur was born on 12 August 1967 in Paramaribo, Suriname, and grew up in the Netherlands. One of the most explosive Dutch boxers ever - WBO super featherweight world champion and an Olympic standout.
At the 1988 Seoul Olympics he announced himself to the world by knocking out reigning world champion Kelcie Banks in the first round - one of the most stunning upsets of the Games.
As a professional he combined ferocious punching power with exceptional speed, earning the WBO super featherweight title and defending it successfully. His style - aggressive, relentless, with serious knockout power in both hands - made him one of the most exciting Dutch fighters of his generation.
Tuur paved the way for the wave of Dutch boxing talent that followed and remains a beloved figure in the Netherlands.
