'The King of Kickboxing' Rico Verhoeven underwent knee surgery yesterday. From the hospital, the world kickboxing champion reports that everything went well. The Collision 5 event by GLORY, scheduled for mid-March, will therefore be postponed.
The doctors did an amazing job. I want to let you know how much I appreciate the kind messages and support, you are amazing!
Rico Verhoeven is (still) not fighting Antonio Plazibat
Rico Verhoeven was set to compete in March for a long-awaited world title fight against Antonio Plazibat. Preparations seemed to be going smoothly until that one moment last week. Rico Verhoeven was getting ready to train, started his warm-up, and twisted his knee. He immediately felt that something was seriously wrong.
'The King of Kickboxing' rushed to the hospital. An MRI scan revealed that it was more serious than expected. He even had to undergo surgery. Fortunately, that is now behind him and everything went well. From his hospital bed, Rico is already focusing on his return to the ring.
The first step towards Collision 5 was taken today. This is not an obstacle, but an opportunity.
