Rico Verhoeven will not (yet) fight Antonio Plazibat

Rico Verhoeven was scheduled to compete in March in a long-awaited world title fight against Antonio Plazibat. Preparations appeared to be going smoothly until that fateful moment last week. Rico Verhoeven was getting ready to train, began his warm-up, and stepped awkwardly. He twisted his knee and immediately knew something was seriously wrong.

‘The King of Kickboxing’ rushed to the hospital. An MRI scan revealed that the injury was more serious than initially thought. He even needed surgery. Fortunately, that is now behind him and everything went well. From his hospital bed, Rico is already setting his sights on returning to the ring.

The first step toward Collision 5 was taken today. This is not an obstacle, but an opportunity.
