Note:

While open headgear prioritizes visibility and agility, it obviously offers less protection to the face, especially the chin and nose, compared to headgear with a face-bar or cheek protection.

However, the open design is often preferred because it allows fighters to spar and train without feeling too restricted in their freedom of movement. Many fighters are not fans of overly "bulky" protectors anyway.
