Grip bar and wrist strap - stable fit for the trainer during intensive pad training

The trainer inserts their hand into the open insertion section at the back and holds the pad firmly via the grip bar. The wrist strap actively contributes to a stable fit - unlike paddles, where the strap only serves as a safety feature.

This ensures that the pads do not shift during fast combinations and that the trainer or partner can continue moving comfortably to challenge the athlete dynamically.

What is the difference between punching mitts, focus pads, Thai pads, and kicking shields?

Punching mitts and focus pads are compact targets for focused pad work, usually involving punches or light precision techniques. Thai pads are held against the arm and are designed for combinations that also include kicks.

Punching shields provide a larger target for punching combinations. A kicking shield is designed for kick training and has a different shape and grip. Size alone does not determine how much impact is safe; adjust your technique and intensity to the specific pad and the person holding it.
