Bytomic mouthguards

A regular mouthguard only protects your upper teeth and is most commonly used in boxing, kickboxing, and thai boxing. It is light, allows you to breathe easily, and is suitable for both training and competition. Almost all our customers buy a single mouthguard (so only upper teeth).

A double mouthguard protects both upper and lower teeth and offers more jaw protection — ideal for full-contact or when maximum protection is truly maximum protection above all. Note: breathing with a double mouthguard is much more difficult.

Most mouthguards are made of thermoplastic material that you shape yourself in hot water (60–80°C). Once formed, the mouthguard fits your teeth perfectly.

Some brands use more advanced technologies:

• Shock Doctor uses a Gel Fit liner for extra comfort and integrated ventilation holes
• SafeJawz has Remodel Tech that allows you to reshape the mouthguard up to 3 times

With braces, you need a special mouthguard for braces — a standard thermoplastic mouthguard does not fit and can damage your braces.

Mouthguards for braces are often made from 100% medical-grade silicone or have a Fluid-Fit system that adapts immediately.

Rinse your mouthguard with cold water after each use and always store it in a protective case — never loose in your sports bag. Never use hot water to clean it, as this will deform the fit.

Most mouthguards are thermoplastic and you shape them yourself at home. Note: the exact temperature and soaking time vary by brand and model - always read the included instructions or the brand's product page before you start.

The general method:

1. Heat water to the temperature indicated on your mouthguard (usually 60–80°C, do not boil)
2. Submerge the mouthguard for the specified time (usually 20–30 seconds)
3. Remove it and let it cool for 2–3 seconds
4. Press firmly on your teeth and lightly suck in
5. Rinse in cold water to set the shape
