Bytomic Basic junior or adult – what is the difference?

Bytomic sells one model in two sizes:

  • Children's Mouthguard Bytomic Basic - children's size, suitable up to approximately 11 years old, same colors as the adult version
  • Mouthguard Bytomic Basic - adult size, for adults and older youths

Both are thermoplastic and can be molded at home in hot water. The transparent model is slightly cheaper than the colored variants.

Bytomic mouthguard molding – here's how to do it

The Bytomic mouthguard is thermoplastic and can be custom-fitted at home in one session:

  1. Boil water and remove the pan from the heat for 20 seconds
  2. Place the mouthguard in the water until it softens
  3. Remove it and let it cool for 2–3 seconds
  4. Press it firmly over your upper teeth and bite down lightly with your lower jaw
  5. Press your fingers against the gums to create a good edge
  6. Rinse with cold water to set the shape

Note: never use boiling water directly—it may damage the mouthguard or burn your mouth.

Bytomic mouthguards – colors and availability

Bytomic mouthguards are available in fourteen colors, for both children and adults:

Standard: clear, black, white, pink, blue, light blue, orange, yellow, green, silver, gold

Glitter/metallic: glitter dark blue, glitter green, glitter wine red, metallic red

Neon: neon yellow, neon orange, neon green

The clear model is the most affordable entry-level option. All other colors are the same price.

Bytomic mouthguards for boxing, kickboxing, and more

Bytomic mouthguards are suitable for all contact sports where a mouthguard is mandatory or recommended:

  • Boxing, kickboxing, thai boxing - ideal as a first mouthguard or spare mouthguard
  • Budo, taekwon-do, krav maga, MMA - meets the basic requirements
  • Children those taking up sports for the first time - affordable and available in cheerful colors

For recreationalists and beginners, Bytomic is an excellent choice. Those who train more intensively or compete are better off choosing SafeJawz or Shock Doctor.

Maintaining your Bytomic mouthguard

Rinse your Bytomic mouthguard after every use with cold water and store it in the included Protective case. Never use hot water to clean it—it will permanently deform the fit.

For extra hygiene, we recommend the SafeJawz disinfectant spray : antimicrobial, mint-scented, suitable for approximately 150 uses.

When should I choose a Bytomic children's or adult mouthguard?

For each product, we provide sizing information that you can consult. The table below is the guideline for Bytomic mouthguards:

How do I fit my Bytomic mouthguard?

The Bytomic mouthguard must be molded to the shape of your jaw before first use.

Boil water in a saucepan, then remove it from the heat for 20 seconds. Next, place the mouthguard in the water briefly (around 30 seconds) until it softens. Then place it over the upper row of teeth in your mouth and gently bite into it with your lower jaw. Use your fingers to press the mouthguard against your gums so that it takes the correct shape.
