A double-end ball is a boxing ball stretched between two elastic cords—one attached to the ceiling and one to the floor. After every punch, the ball springs back quickly and unpredictably, forcing the boxer to move, cover up, and strike again.
While a punching bag trains power and conditioning, a double-end ball trains precision, timing, and reaction speed. The ball moves in every direction after impact, challenging the boxer to repeatedly find the right moment and position. This makes it one of the most effective training tools for refining punching technique and hand-eye coordination.
A double-end ball is suitable for boxers of all levels—from recreational athletes to professionals. Beginners work on basic coordination and timing. Advanced and professionals use the ball to ingrain combinations at speed and to train under fatigue.
The ball is secured with an elastic cord attached to the ceiling and floor, or to a base filled with water—without drilling or mounting it to a wall.

Synthetic leather offers a better striking experience than PU—firmer, smoother, and more durable with intensive use. Most mid-range double end balls from Super Pro, Hayabusa, and Rival fall into this category. The Winning SB-7000 and SB-7500 are also made of synthetic leather—but at a level far above average.
100% leather is the premium material—handcrafted, more durable than synthetic leather, and with better striking response. The double end balls from Cleto Reyes and the leather models from Rival and Super Pro fall into this category. Leather balls require slightly more maintenance but last considerably longer with proper use.
Small ball or large ball—the size determines the level and training intensity
The size of a double-end ball has a direct impact on the difficulty level—the smaller the ball, the faster and more unpredictably it rebounds, and the higher the required level of technique.
A large ball (25–28 cm diameter) rebounds more slowly and predictably—ideal for beginners and recreationalists working on basic coordination and timing. The Cleto Reyes Classic (28x18 cm), the Super Pro Red Black (25x20 cm), and the Rival RDBL3-9 (23 cm) fall into this category.
A medium-sized ball (20–25 cm diameter) is the most commonly used size in boxing gyms—fast enough for challenging training, yet large enough to hit consistently. The Super Pro Champion (20 cm) and the Winning SB-7000 (21 cm) are examples in this class.
A small ball (6–15 cm diameter) rebounds extremely quickly and unpredictably—suitable only for advanced athletes and professionals. The Winning SB-9000 (7 cm punching ball) and the Hayabusa Mini (6 cm) are the most extreme models in the range.

Base or hooks – two ways to mount a double-end ball
A double-end bag can be attached in two ways: using hooks in the ceiling and floor, or using a base combined with a ceiling hook.
The classic method uses two hooks—one in the ceiling and one in the floor—with an elastic cord on both sides of the bag. The bag hangs freely and rebounds in all directions after impact. This provides the most authentic and challenging training experience. Fight2Win carries Super Pro replacement or additional elastic cords.
A base (also known as an anchor) replaces the floor attachment—the base is filled with water for stability and serves as the lower anchor point. The upper attachment remains a ceiling hook. This is the solution for athletes who do not want to or cannot install a hook in the floor. Fight2Win carries bases from Rival (suitable for up to 30 kg of filling) and Everlast (suitable for up to 20 kg of filling). Both are compact and easy to move.
Care for a double-end bag – leather and synthetic leather require different care
A double end ball lasts considerably longer with proper care—especially leather models benefit from regular care.
Leather double end balls (Cleto Reyes, Rival RDBL4-8, Super Pro Vintage and Red Black) - wipe the ball with a dry cloth after use to remove sweat and moisture. Periodically treat the leather with a leather conditioner to prevent drying out and cracking. Store the ball away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
Synthetic leather and PU (Winning, Rival RDBL3-9, Super Pro Champion) - easier to maintain than leather. Wiping it with a slightly damp cloth after use is sufficient. No leather conditioner is needed.
Elastic cords wear out faster than the ball itself—check them regularly for cracks or loss of tension. A loose or damaged elastic cord changes the ball's rebound behavior and increases the risk of breakage during training. Fight2Win carries Super Pro replacement elastic cords.
Store the ball at room temperature and avoid damp areas—this applies to all materials.

What is a double-end ball and what do I use it for?
A double-end ball is a boxing ball that is attached at the top and bottom with elastic cords. After impact, it rebounds quickly and unpredictably, helping you train your reaction speed, timing, precision, and hand-eye coordination. Essential for boxers who want to sharpen their punching techniques and defense.
You install a double-end bag by using two attachment points: one on the ceiling and one on the floor. The easiest way is to use ceiling hooks for this, but with some creativity, you can also try other methods.
A very practical and convenient method is to use a hook in the ceiling and an anchor on the floor. That way, you don't have to drill into the floor.
Use elastic cords (sometimes included) to attach the bag to both points. Make sure the cords are tight enough to keep the bag in position, but also flexible enough to move when you punch.
What are the benefits of (double-end-ball) anchors?
The anchors for double end balls are very handy for installing a double end ball, but you can also attach a heavy bag to them. The punching bag will swing much less, which is nice during intense training sessions.

How many elastics do I need for a double-end ball?
For a complete double-end ball setup, you need 2 elastics — one for the top attachment (ceiling) and one for the bottom attachment (floor or base). The elastic is sold individually.
