McDavid, Rival, or MSP: How to choose the right sports tape.
The McDavid EuroTape is available in widths of 2.5 cm and 3.8 cm (10-meter rolls) and features serrated edges for easy tearing. Ideal for joint support and securing handwraps.
The Rival Trainer Boxing Tape is specially developed for taping boxing wraps—it is highly adhesive, water-resistant, and sweat-resistant, 24 mm wide and 12 meters long. Available in packs of 10 rolls. The MSP proTape features a zinc oxide adhesive layer and is available in three widths (25 mm, 38 mm, and 50 mm) for maximum flexibility in various applications.
Sports tape for injury prevention, rehabilitation, and strapping.
Sports tape has multiple uses in martial arts. Its most common purpose is to secure boxing wraps - so the handwrap stays in place during training. Tape is also used for joint and ligament injury support, early functional follow-up after injuries, sports injury prevention and rehabilitation.
For certain fractures (ribs, fingers, toes), sports tape can also be used as temporary support—always consult a medical professional for this.
Which width of sports tape should you choose? Here’s how to do it.
The choice of width depends on the application. 25mm (2.5 cm) is the standard width for taping boxing wraps and supporting fingers and toes. 38mm (3.8 cm) is suitable for wrists and ankles. 50mm (5 cm) - only available from MSP - is intended for larger joints such as knees and shoulders.
If you are unsure about the right width or application, consult a physiotherapist or sports physician.

How to properly apply and remove Sports tape.
Apply sports tape to clean, dry skin for maximum adhesion. Wrap the tape without pulling it too tightly—tape that is too tight can restrict blood circulation. Remove the tape slowly and carefully after training, preferably after showering when the skin is moist.
If you have sensitive skin, you can use underwrap or pre-wrap as a protective layer beneath the sports tape.
