Top Ten
Top Ten is a brand that has fundamentally changed martial arts through decades of innovation and courage for improvement. German martial arts pioneer Georg F. Brückner was not satisfied with all the protective equipment available at the time. There, with the help of countless different experts, he develops his own range of hand, foot and head protectors. These are made from a rubber-like material called "BayFlex®".
TOP TEN ENLARGED
The innovative safety equipment, which at that time already bore the name TOP TEN, was presented internationally for the first time at the WAKO World Championships in London. The World Boxing Association AIBA is also the first to show interest in the unique protective clothing.
With wide acceptance by athletes, coaches and associations, and application in most major international competitions, the superior properties of TOP TEN products were quickly established.
BAYFLEX®
Today, the TOP TEN head protector from BayFlex® is considered an excellent innovation. It is considered a technological revolution almost from another planet. This first impression was consolidated over time. This ensures that the head protection is still one of the bestsellers worldwide.
TAKEOVER
On December 30, 1992, a sad day in the brand's history, TOP TEN founder Georg F. Brückner died far too early. This in his birthplace Berlin at the age of 62. In the same year, TOP TEN supplied the boxing equipment for the Olympic Games in Barcelona.
The Managing Director of Budoland Headquarters (Germany) Peter Kruckenhauser takes over the global distribution of TOP TEN products. They supply the equipment for the Olympic boxing tournament in Atlanta, USA. In Vienna (Austria) Peter Kruckenhauser meets the representatives of the Taekwon-Do World Federation. The ITF was and remains enthusiastic about the quality and design of the gloves to this day. The International Taekwon-do Federation therefore signs a contract with TOP TEN, which is still valid.
OLYMPICS
In 1997, a new global distribution network for TOP TEN was established and it will once again be the official supplier at the WAKO World Championships in Dubrovnik/Croatia.
The official boxing equipment of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games is once again TOP TEN. For the 3rd time in a row it is the official supplier of the Olympic Games. In addition, the German company is once again sponsoring a major kickboxing event with the European WAKO Championships in Moscow.
With the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore in 2010, TOP TEN is back at Olympic competitions. In the same year, the newly developed head protector "Avantgarde" was presented with resounding success. The new protection based on the processing of the proven BayFlex® material with a combination of modern futuristic design.
TOP TEN'S SUCCESS
TOP TEN is currently still working on sustainably improving and developing products and so the success story continues.
To date, more than 100 European and world championships in Taekwon-Do, kickboxing and boxing, as well as 3 Olympic Games and the Youth Olympic Games have been equipped with TOP TEN safety equipment. An incredible development.
