The German martial arts pioneer Georg F. Brückner was not satisfied with all the protective gear available at that time.

Therefore, with the help of numerous different experts, he developed his own range of hand, foot, and headgear. These are made from a rubber-like material called "BayFlex®".

TOP TEN EXPANDS

The innovative safety equipment, which already carried the name TOP TEN at that time, was presented internationally for the first time at the WAKO World Championships in London.

The World Boxing Association AIBA was also the first to show interest in the unique protective clothing.

Due to broad acceptance by athletes, coaches, and associations, and by applying it in most major international competitions, the superior qualities of TOP TEN products were quickly established.

BAYFLEX®

Today, the TOP TEN headgear made of BayFlex® is considered an excellent innovation. It is regarded as a technological revolution almost from another planet. This first impression has been sustained over time. This ensures that the headgear remains one of the bestsellers worldwide.

ACQUISITION

On December 30, 1992, a sad day in the brand’s history, TOP TEN founder Georg F. Brückner died far too early in his hometown of Berlin at the age of 62. In the same year, TOP TEN supplied the boxing equipment for the Olympic Games in Barcelona.

The general manager of Budoland Headquarters (Germany), Peter Kruckenhauser, took over the worldwide distribution of TOP TEN products. They supplied the equipment for the Olympic boxing tournament in Atlanta, USA. In Vienna (Austria), Peter Kruckenhauser met the representatives of the Taekwon-Do World Federation.

The ITF was and still is enthusiastic about the quality and design of the gloves. The International Taekwon-do Federation therefore signed a contract with TOP TEN, which is still valid today.

OLYMPIC GAMES

In 1997, a new global distribution network for TOP TEN was established, and it would again be the official supplier at the WAKO World Championships in Dubrovnik, Croatia.

The official boxing equipment for the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games was again TOP TEN. For the third consecutive time, it was the official supplier of the Olympic Games.

Additionally, the German company was once again a sponsor of a major kickboxing event with the European WAKO Championships in Moscow.

With the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore in 2010, TOP TEN returned to Olympic competitions. In the same year, the newly developed headgear "Avantgarde" was presented with resounding success.

The new protection is based on the processing of the proven BayFlex® material combined with modern futuristic design.

TOP TEN’S SUCCESS

At present, TOP TEN is still sustainably improving and further developing products, continuing the success story.

To date, more than 100 European and world championships in Taekwon-Do, kickboxing, and boxing, as well as 3 Olympic Games and the Youth Olympic Games, have been equipped with TOP TEN safety gear. An incredible development.
