Boxing shoe size guide – how to choose the right size

Boxing shoes generally fit true to size. For a snug, traditional fit, choose one size smaller than usual. Choose your normal size for a roomier fit.

The Hayabusa Talon specifically runs large, so choosing one size smaller is definitely recommended.

Boxing shoes are suitable for more than just boxing

All boxing shoes at Fight2Win are primarily designed for Western boxing, but are also excellent for cardio boksen, Krav Maga, and personal training.

The thin, flexible sole and low profile make them ideal for any sport where fast footwork and lateral movements are central.

The blog “Why should you wear boxing shoes during training?” explains why boxing shoes are superior to regular athletic shoes in three respects: grip, weight, and ankle support.

Frequently asked questions — Boxing shoes

How do I best maintain my boxing shoes?
  • Wipe your boxing shoes after every training session with a damp cloth to remove sweat and dirt. Do not use harsh cleaning products—a mild soap with water is sufficient. Then let the shoes air-dry at room temperature, never in the dryer or on a heater.
  • After every training session, let your boxing shoes air out completely- leave them open and do not store them directly in a closed sports bag. You can also use deodorizer here to absorb sweat. A light spray with a disinfecting shoe spray after training helps prevent bacteria and odors.
  • Leather boxing shoes require periodic leather care Use a leather cream or conditioner to keep the leather supple and prevent it from drying out. Apply the cream with a soft cloth and let it absorb. This significantly extends the shoes' lifespan and keeps the leather flexible.

What should you consider when choosing?

  • Height low for greater freedom of movement, high for more ankle protection
  • Material synthetic is lighter and easier to maintain, leather is more durable
  • Outsole thin gum rubber outsole for maximum feel and grip on the mat
  • Weight the lighter, the faster your footwork

The Title Total Balance features a specific design focused on balance and stability.

What is the difference between mid-top and high-top boxing shoes?

Mid-top boxing shoes offer a balance between freedom of movement and ankle protection—popular with boxers who move around a lot.
