Boxing gloves for children aged 6-7 years are essential for kickboxing. If your son or daughter is going to take a trial lesson, they can always borrow boxing gloves from the club. Don't forget to wash your hands thoroughly after training because 9 out of 10 times those loan gloves smell terribly. Then also buy boxing gloves if your child likes it and wants to continue with lessons.
What size boxing gloves do I need?
We recommend that children aged 5, 6 and 7 use 6 oz boxing gloves. This is a standard weight for children with a normal build. But no child is the same, so if your son or daughter is bigger and heavier than other children, it is advisable to buy 8 oz.
Should I buy faux leather or leather boxing gloves?
A leather boxing glove is always better than an artificial leather boxing glove. The latter has a tendency to tear more easily at the stitching seams. But children don't hit that hard yet and if they train once a week, artificial leather gloves are fine. If children train twice a week, we recommend a leather glove.

Use of bandages or inner gloves
Just like adults, children also sweat. It is therefore wise to have your child wear inner gloves under the boxing gloves. These absorb the sweat and this keeps the boxing gloves smelling nice and fresh. You can also choose to work with a short bandage of 250 cm. But children will often not have the patience to put these on. An inner glove is therefore the fastest and easiest way. We recommend that you buy the XPRT inner gloves in size XS for €10.
