Boxing gloves for children aged 6-7 are essential for kickboxing. If your son or daughter is going to do a trial lesson, they can always borrow boxing gloves from the club. After training, don't forget to wash your hands thoroughly because 9 out of 10 times those loan gloves stink terribly. Then also buy boxing gloves if your child likes it and wants to continue with lessons.
What size boxing gloves do I need?
For children aged 6 and 7, we recommend using 6 oz boxing gloves. This is a standard weight for children with a normal build. However, no child is the same, so if your son or daughter is bigger and heavier than other children, it is advisable to buy 8 oz .
Should I buy faux leather or leather boxing gloves?
A leather boxing glove is always better than a synthetic leather boxing glove. The latter tends to tear more quickly at the seams. But children do not hit that hard and if they train once a week, then a synthetic leather glove is fine. If children train twice a week, then we do recommend a leather glove.

Use of bandages or inner gloves
Just like adults, children also sweat. It is therefore wise to let your child wear inner gloves under the boxing gloves. These absorb the sweat and this keeps the boxing gloves smelling nice and fresh. You can also choose to work with a short bandage of 250 cm. But children will often not have the patience to put this on. An inner glove is therefore the fastest and easiest way. We recommend that you buy the XPRT inner gloves in size XS for €10.
