We receive many questions from parents about kickboxing gear and kids sizes. They are unsure about which sizes they need.
Parents are used to kids sizes like size 134, but with kickboxing gear it works a little differently. In this article, we try to provide a guideline for kickboxing gear for children and the corresponding kids sizes.

Sizes kids kickboxing gear: kids boxing gloves, shin guards and kickboxing shorts
Boys and girls size 110 up to size 128
Size 110 - 5 years
Size 116 - 6 years
Size 122 - 7 years
Size 128 - 8 years
There is a big difference between brands and the sizes they offer. For example, Twins runs very small, Booster has certain shorts that run very small while some shorts from XPRT run a bit larger.
We always try to provide a size chart or indication per brand and per product.
Size boxing gloves
Children aged 5, 6, and 7 years can best choose 6 oz and children aged 8 years can choose 8 oz. If your son or daughter is bigger or smaller than peers, the choice can of course be adjusted.
A good choice of boxing glove is the synthetic leather competitor glove from XPRT for € 30,-. We talk about size here, but in fact this is the weight of the boxing gloves.
Size shin guards
Children with size 110 up to size 128 can best choose a sock model shin guard.
We recommend children aged 5 and 6 years size XXS or XS, and children aged 7 and 8 years size S. Also here, if your child is small or large for his/her age, the size can be adjusted. The difference in length is always slightly less than 1 cm between XXS, XS, and S.
The best choice is the black sock model shin guard or for girls the pink variant.
Size kickboxing shorts
We have a large assortment of kickboxing shorts and only a few of them really fit small children nicely.
We have had many children aged 5 to 8 years in our store, so we know what works and what doesn’t.
For boys and girls, we recommend the shorts from XPRT Fight Gear. Especially the black and white, the Fight Girl, and the all black or pink in size XS or XXS fit perfectly. These shorts start at € 30.
The shorts from Booster are also best taken in size XS. The difference between XS and S is standard 1-1.5 cm in length and also in width across all brands.
Boys and girls size 134 up to size 152
Size 134 - 9 years
Size 140 - 10 years
Size 146 - 11 years
Size 152 - 12 years
For children in this age category, the differences in height and weight are greater. Our advice is always an indication and if in doubt you can always call or better yet, visit our store.
The weight of the gloves will be either 8 oz or 10 oz. This depends on the build of your son or daughter. The size of the shin guards will be S and the size of the shorts will also be S.
Kickboxing gear and kids sizes remain tricky. The best is of course to come by and try on. Our store is located at Fascinatio Boulevard 1164 in Capelle aan den IJssel. We are open 6 days a week.
