The most commonly used training methods in various martial arts are so-called pads and kicking pad training. There are different names for this training: pad training, stair cushion training, mitt work, etc etc. Nowadays many personal trainers also eagerly use this training method. It is safe (no contact with partner), efficient (lots of fat burning and cardio) and also fun. There are different types of kicking and kicking pads on the market and of course also for sale at Fight2Win: small hand pads, focus pads, Thai pads and large kicking pads. These can all be used for different types of training.
Small hand pads
These pads are among our best-selling pads. The XPRT hand pads in particular are in high demand. They are available from €49.95 per pair, so a minimal investment. The hand pads are ideal for punch training in particular. Naturally, these hand pads are often used in kickboxing and Thai boxing, but all kinds of other martial artists also benefit greatly from them. Of course, all martial arts and martial arts that use hand techniques can make optimal use of these pads during the Pads and kicking pad training.
Think of martial arts and defense sports such as Krav Maga, Karate, Taekwondo and Kung Fu, for example. The principle of the training is simple: people work in pairs - which is why, as mentioned earlier, also popular with personal trainers and small group training - and one person applies the pads with their hands in the pads or on command while moving (more advanced training). Another option is to simply hold the target stationary and only hold the pads statically high, allowing the puncher to set his or her own pace.
Focus pads
Focus pads are similar to the smaller hand pads, but are more versatile. This way you can grip the focus pads in two ways, with the palm up or down. This way you can practice a whole range of techniques from punching to all kinds of kicks. Moreover, you can quickly change pads, so they are very suitable for intensive training at a high pace.
Many Taekwon-do schools in particular use these types of pads, but if you know how to use them properly, they are suitable for all kinds of fighting techniques. Using these small pads is actually the same as with the hand pads, except that it is now easier to alternate combinations of punching and kicking techniques. You can also indicate completely randomly (for advanced martial artists) to train reaction speed.
Large stair cushions
The large kicking pads are very popular with many fighters and recreational athletes during Pads and kicking pad training. These are probably also the best known fenders. They are available in many variants and price ranges. They are ideal for beginners and children who, to put it bluntly, can't aim very well yet. They are also very suitable for advanced users, because they can practice their technique with full force with these cushions.
Thai pads
Thai pads, also called arm pads or Pao (Thai name), really belong to the Thai schools. They are indispensable in any serious training camp, dojo and/or gym. They are used to practice all kinds of techniques, but they are particularly suitable for knees and hard power kicks. The price of Thai pads starts from around 80 euros to well over 200 euros for the most professional and heavy variants. Thai pads cover the entire forearm and are supplied with a grip bar and sturdy adjustable straps.
