Cardio boxing

Cardio boxing is the generic name under which many gyms and fitness centers give group lessons, such as kick fit, boxing fit and the like. These are lessons where you mainly work on your fitness with a partner or punching bag (hence the name cardio). This is without extreme physical contact. In these types of lessons there is no sparring, but mainly combinations practiced with a training buddy.

Cardio boxing - great way to get fit

Cardio boxing is therefore a great way to get "in shape" without sustaining any nasty injuries. Different punching techniques and combinations from boxing (and sometimes also kickboxing) are often used. These are alternated with strength and conditioning exercises.

Suitable for young and old, men and women

Cardio boxing is fun for young and old and super suitable for both men and women. It's a wonderful way to release stress, burn calories and maintain social contacts!

Boxing gloves, bandages or gel wraps

Besides a comfortable sports outfit, you don't need much for cardio boxing: a pair of boxing gloves (can possibly be bag gloves), bandages and/or a pair of gel wraps. A mouthguard will not be necessary because no contact will be made on the face. Depending on the type of lesson and your own wishes, you could use a pair of simple shin guards to provide some protection for your shins against pain and injury.
