You can train perfectly with all the shin guards from our range. The big difference between the different shin guards is in the thickness and the type of closure . The King protectors have a super thick padding and because of this you feel almost nothing when you give a kick or block a kick. The closure consists of two pieces of Velcro. This means that men and women with thick calves can also wear these protectors well.

The Twins shin guards and some XPRT models have an eyelet through which you have to put the velcro strap. This makes it easier to tighten the shin guard properly.

What size shin guards?

In our martial arts shop near Rotterdam you can of course come and try on the martial arts shin guard of your choice. We have all common models in stock in sizes S, M, L and XL unless otherwise stated. However, you cannot compare the sizes of the different brands. For example, a King XL is many times larger than a Twins XL. You are wise to follow our size chart. In 9 out of 10 cases you will have made the right choice.

For small children, our advice is always a sock model. Children from 8-10 years old can make the step to the cotton shin guard that is equipped with 3 elastic Velcro closures. If you have any doubts, please contact us by email or by phone. You can of course also come by and try on in the showroom. We are open from Monday to Saturday from 10:00 to 16:00.

Maintaining shin guards

Of course you want your martial arts gear to stay in good condition. Your bandages and martial arts clothing can go in the wash, but your boxing gloves and shin guards should absolutely NOT GO IN THE WASHING MACHINE .

So how do you make sure your shin guards stay in good condition? To start, dry your shin guards with a towel after training. This prevents sweat from getting into them. But of course sweat is also getting into them during training. That's why it's wise for people who sweat a lot to ventilate their shin guards well. A good place is the doormat. We also sell a Fresh KO spray . This spray kills all the bacteria that cause unpleasant odors.
