In 1978, one of the first martial arts stores (Super Pro) was opened in Rotterdam. Rotterdam has always been considered a boxing city. It is the home of Bep van Klaveren "The Dutch Windmill", Olympic champion of 1928. And of professional boxers, former WBO world champion Regilio Tuur, former WBU world champion Don Diego Poeder and many others.
After the store became a great success, the owner founded the Super Pro Boxing Gear brand. With the slogan “the champions choice”, the brand quickly conquered its place in the Dutch boxing community. For many champions, the brand was literally their choice to train with. The brand also made a name for itself internationally and was exported throughout Europe.
Collaboration with top trainer Dennis Krauweel
In the late 1990s, the store and the Super Pro brand were taken over by Tom and his former business partner. Due to other priorities and the desire to grow bigger, they decided to work with the famous kickboxing trainer Dennis Krauweel. He became responsible for the brand. In the mid-2000s, Dennis struck out on his own. He gained a large audience with the brand as a sponsor of the Super League events, which were broadcast throughout Europe.
Ambassador Super Pro: Rico Verhoeven
Dennis himself, who traveled the world with his fighters from Japan to the United States, kept the brand on the down low, waiting for the right partner to come along. In order to launch the brand on a global stage. Over the years, Dennis has also built a brand that has also been appreciated by professionals, for example Rico Verhoeven (one of the best, if not the best Dutch kickboxer ever) is a face of Super Pro.
In 2018, Dennis and Sportief BV joined forces. With Dennis' expertise about the product and the community and the years of experience in production and distribution of martial arts products from Sportief BV, an invincible team has been created.
