Bandages, inner gloves or gel wraps is a frequently asked question in our store. The answer to that question is not always immediately available. In this article we give tips to make the right choice. The most important thing is that something is used in any case. If you don't do this, the sweat from your hands will soak into your gloves. And after a while your gloves will start to stink terribly. Moreover, the filling does not improve and so the quality of the boxing glove quickly deteriorates. You may still remember the boxing gloves you wore during your trial lesson!
Who are inner gloves suitable for?
Of course, everyone can wear inner gloves . However, the largest target group are children aged 6 to 10 years . A child can easily put on and take off an inner glove by themselves. Of course, a child aged 6 or older can learn to put on a bandage, but it is not very practical. When children have been taking lessons for longer, and therefore have a better technique, it is time to learn how to use bandages.
The XPR gel wraps are also popular among women who do cardio boxing . We often hear in the store that they do not want to waste time putting on bandages. They do not need extra support , but they do want some extra padding on the knuckles and the impact area of the hands. The list below shows exactly for whom the inner gloves are a good choice.
Inner gloves are ideal for:
- children up to and including 10 years old
- men and women who do cardio boxing, kick fun, boxing fit and group lessons
- men and women who train recreationally at a leisurely pace
- men and women who do not want or need additional support
- gentlemen and women who find bandages complicated
Who are gel wraps suitable for?
In our range we have a number of brands of gel wraps, namely XPRT , Fumetsu , Booster and Hayabusa . The Hayabusa is available in S, M, L & XL. Our experience shows that the standard female hand is too small for the Booster gel wraps. They should really choose the Hayabusa Gel wraps in size S or M. Adult men can choose from both brands. Of course you can come by in Capelle aan den IJssel. In our store you can then try on bandages or inner gloves or gel wraps.
The gel wraps have an extra layer of protection at the knuckles and the top of the hand. This means that the fist and knuckles are extra well protected when punching. The impact of a hard punch is better absorbed and the chance of nasty injuries to the knuckles is a lot less. The extra layer of gel padding makes the gel wraps a lot thicker. If you already have trouble getting into your gloves without bandages, it will be even more difficult with gel wraps. In fact, it may not fit. A disadvantage of gel wraps is that you cannot simply wash them in the washing machine.
You can use gel wraps as:
- you suffer from painful knuckles
- if you want extra protection for your hands
- if you want to train quickly and well protected
Who are bandages suitable for?
Bandages are suitable for everyone ! We believe that children from the age of 8 are already smart and independent enough to put on bandages. For children, always choose a bandage with a length of 250 cm . Adult men can also wear a short bandage, but if you are really looking for the right support and firmness, we really recommend that you use the long bandages of 450 cm .
So children, men and women, really everyone can use bandages. If you put on the bandages correctly, you have a lot of comfort, extra support and protection. Bandages are easy to wash in the washing machine and they are affordable. They also come in different colours. We always advise to first train with bandages or inner gloves before taking the step to a gel wrap.
