Scoring and warnings kickboxing/muay thai

The standard procedure for assessment is as follows: One can receive points and warnings. The scoring differs per organization and also per country. There are also differences between K-1 rules, kickboxing and FMT (full Muay Thai).

Kickboxing scoring:

  • A correct Thai boxing style, combined with hard and effective attacks.
  • An aggressive and dominating style.
  • Clearly dominating the opponent.
  • Using the traditional Thai style of defense and counter-attacking.

No points are awarded for attacks that:

  • Not allowed according to the rules
  • A blow, kick or punch to the opponent's cover.
  • Not being powerful enough.

Warnings will be given for any violation noted by the referee. Any violation noted by the jury, but not flagged by the referee, will be included in the individual judge's score accordingly.
