Icepack McDavid Hot-Cold: Why cool?
An ice pack (also called a cooling pack) is used to cool an injury immediately. It is often used to reduce swelling in limb injuries. Especially with sprains, strains, dislocations, and bruises, cooling is the first step of first aid (ICER). Pain is also relieved by reducing swelling.

How do you use an ice pack?
When using an ice pack, it is important never to place the ice pack directly on the injured body part. This can cause frostbite, which is obviously undesirable. This is also an important reason to be cautious when applying ice packs to fractures or open wounds.
Instructions:
- Operation: store in the fridge/freezer for cold use - cold therapy for injuries or pain relief
- Heat in the microwave for warm use - warm therapy for recovery
