ITF Taekwon-do belts. The full color spectrum.

For ITF Taekwon-do we stock belts in all grading colors: whiteyellowgreenbluered and black. All belts are available in multiple lengths for children and adults.

For dan holders, we have special Chang Hon dan belts in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd dan versions—with the specific finish appropriate to the wearer's rank.

Budo belts. Universal for Karate, BJJ, and other martial arts.

In addition to ITF Taekwon-do belts, we also offer universal budo belts in white and black - suitable for Karate, BJJ, and other budo sports that use a standard budo belt.

The white budo belt is available in several lengths for children and adults. The black budo belt is available in three lengths for dan holders.

The right band length. How to choose the right size.

The length of a martial arts belt depends on body size and style preference. As a rule of thumb: children generally choose a shorter belt, while adults choose a longer one. You’ll find specific length advice on each product page.

For dan holders, Chang Hon dan belts are available in 190 cm and 210 cm - the standard lengths for adult dan holders in ITF Taekwon-do.

The meaning of the belt colors in ITF Taekwon-Do.

In ITF Taekwon-do each belt color symbolizes a stage in the practitioner's development.

  • White represents innocence and the beginning of the journey.
  • Yellow symbolizes the earth in which the plant begins to grow.
  • Green represents growth.
  • Blue symbolizes the sky toward which the plant grows.
  • Red represents danger and maturity.
  • Black symbolizes the opposite of white—maturity and mastery of the art.

This is how to keep your martial arts belt in good condition.

Wash your belt at 30°C with a mild detergent. Let the belt air-dry - do not tumble dry. Fold the belt neatly after each training session to reduce creasing and wear.

Traditionally, in some styles, the belt is never washed as a sign of respect for the knowledge gained—follow your club's or instructor's guidelines on this matter.
