Cardio boksen — also known as kick fit, boks-fit, or cardio boksen — is the most popular group class in gyms and fitness centers in the Netherlands. No contact to the face, no sparring — just an intensive workout with punching techniques, combinations, and conditioning exercises. Fun for all ages, men and women.

For cardio boksen, you don’t need much. The basics: boxing gloves (12–16 oz is sufficient for most cardio boxing classes) and handwraps or gel-wraps to protect your hands and wrists.

A mouthguard is not necessary for cardio boksen—there is no contact to the face. Depending on the type of class, you can optionally use shin guards for kickboxing elements. Do you also train on the punching bag? Then bag gloves are a better choice than regular sparring gloves—they are sturdier and more durable for intensive bag work.

For cardio boksen, you should preferably choose gloves weighing 12 to 16 oz — light enough for a smooth workout, yet offering sufficient protection for your hands and wrists.
