Rival jump rope - from economy to platinum, built for the serious boxer

Rival is one of the leading brands in classic boxing, known for innovative materials and a strong reputation in the boxing world. Rival's jump rope range reflects that philosophy: each model is designed to enhance the boxer's training experience, from entry-level models to professional systems.

Fight2Win carries the full Rival jump rope range—from the  Economy as an affordable basic model, through the  RJR4 series and  Deluxe to the  Aluminum GripComfort Grip and  Weighted Jumprope, with the top of the range being the  Platinum Speedrope with three interchangeable cables and a luxury case.

Every Rival jump rope is adjustable in length and suitable for boxers of all levels. The models are available exclusively in black—sleek, functional, and timeless.

The Rival jump rope range – each model has its own character and purpose

Rival offers jump rope options for every level and training need. An overview of the models:

The RJR4 series is the entry-level model—a sturdy, soft PVC cable measuring 305 cm, rubber handles, available in black, green, blue, and orange. Lightweight and ready to use for warm-ups and fitness training.

The Economy is the most affordable model—plastic handles, a 300 cm PVC cable, adjustable. Functional and durable for everyday use.

The Deluxe adds ball bearings to the entry-level range—smoother rotation, a soft 305 cm PVC cable, and rubber handles. A step up in comfort and speed.

The Aluminum Grip Speedrope combines lightweight aluminum handles with a 305 cm PVC-coated steel cable—the transition into the speedrope segment.

The Comfort Grip Speedrope stands out with tennis-style handles featuring a perforated non-slip grip—superior control during intense sessions, including a storage pouch.

The Weighted Jumprope adds removable weights to the handles and comes with two cables (regular and heavy)—for progressive resistance and arm strength.

The Platinum Speedrope is the top model—aluminum handles with textured microfiber, three interchangeable 305 cm cables (regular/medium/heavy), and a luxury case.

Rival jump rope cords are standard 305 cm—adjustable or fixed length depending on the model

All Rival jump rope models have a standard length of 305 cm (10 foot) - the standard size for adult boxers. Whether and how you adjust the length varies by model.

The RJR4 series and Deluxe have a soft PVC cable that can be shortened by tying a knot or sliding the rope through the handle—simple, but less precise.

The Economy has plastic handles with an adjustable system—quick and practical for daily use.

The Aluminum Grip, Comfort Grip, Weighted Jumprope and Platinum have a PVC-coated steel cable that you set to length once using the screws near the handles. Precise and stable, but not intended for daily adjustments.

A good rule of thumb for the correct length: stand on the middle of the rope and pull the ends upward—the handles should reach your armpits.

Rival jump ropes for boxing, kickboxing, MMA, and personal training

Rival jump ropes are primarily designed for the boxer - but their applications extend beyond the boxing ring.

For boxing , the jump rope is an essential part of training. Rival jump ropes improve footwork, conditioning, and breathing efficiency—the three pillars of a good boxer. The speed ropes are ideal for working on speed and double-unders.

For kickboxing and MMA , the jump rope is used as a warm-up and cardio tool. The Weighted Jumprope with removable weights adds extra resistance—useful for shoulder stability and arm strength that also come in handy for grappling and clinch work.

For personal training and HIIT , Rival jump ropes are highly versatile—from the simple RJR4 for interval training to the Platinum for advanced jump rope techniques. Compact, portable, and usable without a gym or equipment.

All Rival models are suitable for recreationalists and advanced athletes - the Weighted Jumprope and Platinum are also suitable for professional use.

Rival jump rope – material and handles determine the feel and speed

The material of the rope and handles determines how a Rival jump rope feels and performs. The range includes three combinations.

Plastic handles with PVC cable - the RJR4 series, Economy and Deluxe. Lightweight, flexible, and forgiving. The soft PVC cable rotates smoothly and is comfortable for beginners and athletes working on rhythm and conditioning. The Deluxe adds ball bearings for smoother rotation.

Aluminum handles with PVC-coated steel cable - the Aluminum Grip Speedrope and the Platinum Speedrope. Aluminum is lighter than plastic but more rigid, providing greater control at high speed. The steel cable rotates faster and more precisely than PVC. The Platinum adds textured microfiber to the handles for extra grip during intense sessions.

Rubber handles with PVC-coated steel cable - the Comfort Grip and the Weighted Jumprope. Rubber absorbs vibrations and provides a softer grip, making it comfortable during extended training. The Comfort Grip has tennis-style handles with a perforated non-slip grip. The Weighted Jumprope adds removable weights in the handles for progressive loading.

Maintaining Rival jump ropes – ball bearings and steel cables require the most attention

Rival jump ropes are built for intensive use—but a few basic rules significantly extend their lifespan.

PVC cables (RJR4, Economy, Deluxe) - Wipe the cable with a dry cloth after use. Store the rope coiled, not knotted. Preferably jump on a wooden floor or rubber mat—concrete wears out the cable faster.

PVC-coated steel cables (Aluminum Grip, Comfort Grip, Weighted Jumprope, Platinum) - Regularly check the cable for kinks or damage near the handles. A kinked end weakens the cable and can break at high speed. Store the rope loosely coiled, not tightly wound.

Ball bearings (Deluxe, Comfort Grip, Weighted Jumprope, Platinum) - If the rope turns stiffly or irregularly, the bearings are worn or dirty. The Platinum Speedrope and Weighted Jumprope have replaceable cables—replace only the cable and keep the handles.

Handles - Aluminum handles are wear-resistant and easy to maintain. Rubber handles can harden over time—a light cleaning with a damp cloth keeps them supple.

Store all Rival jump ropes away from direct sunlight and heat to protect the materials.

What is the difference between a regular jump rope and a speedrope?

A jump rope and a speed rope are both used for jumping rope, but they differ in weight and intended use. Speed ropes are lightweight and designed purely for fast jumps, such as double unders. Regular jump ropes are generally heavier and are used for general conditioning, warm-up fitness, and cross-training.

Speed ropes:

  • Lightweight: made from thin PVC or steel cables, allowing them to rotate faster.
  • Speed training: primarily used for intensive exercises such as double unders, speed skipping, and agility training.
  • Suitable for: athletes and people who want to improve their speed, agility, and coordination.

Jump ropes:

  • Varying weights: can range from light to extra heavy, and some are weighted for strength and endurance training. For example, the Rival weighted jumprope.
  • Versatile: suitable for various types of training, including basic jumping, cross-training, and building endurance.
  • Suitable for: beginners and people looking for a full-body workout, including strength and cardiovascular benefits.

In short, if you want to jump as fast as possible or develop advanced skills, a speedrope is the better choice. If you are looking for a more versatile workout or want to build your overall fitness, a regular jump rope is the better choice.

How long should a jump rope be?

For adults, a jump rope should be the following length: stand with both feet in the middle of the rope and pull the handles upward. The jump rope handles should reach approximately to your armpits or breastbone.
