Q: Can groinguards and cups be washed?

Yes and no.This depends on the brand and model. You can almost never wash the cup (the hard part), nor do you need to. Most regular groinguards are worn in a type of sports brief (jockstrap). You can remove the cup and wash the brief. The larger kidney and groinguards (No-Foul) for boxing can of course not be washed in a washing machine. This actually shouldn’t be necessary. You can simply wipe them down and dry them to keep them fresh. Of course, you can’t wash the steel cups either. The metal isn’t resistant to this.

In virtually all martial arts, a groinguard is mandatory in competitions—and highly recommended for every training session involving sparring. XPRT Fight Gear makes groinguards that do exactly what they are supposed to: fit welldo not shift, and provide maximum protection in the event of unexpected contact.

Men’s or women’s. The two XPRT groinguards compared.

XPRT has two groinguards, each specifically designed for the anatomy:

Basic Men: Sturdy plastic cup, removable so the briefs (jockstrap) can be washed. Elastic waistband. Available in white (XXS to XL) and black (XS to XL) – the black version has a mesh cup pocket. Sizes XS and S are suitable for youths, M to XL for adults. Please note: the size is based on waist size, not cup size.

Basic Women: Soft, sturdy PU cup - not hard plastic, but a flexible protector that also covers the groin and lower abdomen . Elastic waistband. Available in white and black, sizes XS to L. Suitable for both girls and women.

The right groinguard size. How to choose correctly.

The size is based on your waist measurement, not on your cup size.

Men’s Basic:

XXS/XS - youth and small teenagers (white only)
S - teenagers and small adults
M - average adults
L - large adults
XL - extra-large adults

Women’s Basic:

XS - youth and small women
S - small adults
M - average adults
L - large adults

Not sure? Choose the smaller size - a groinguard that slips down is uncomfortable, dangerous, and doesn’t fit properly during training.

Men's Basic white - XXS to XL

Men's Basic - removable cup:

Remove the plastic cup before washing
The jockstrap is machine washable at 30°C
Wipe the plastic cup with a damp cloth and antibacterial spray

Women's Basic - PU cup:

Wipe with a damp cloth after use
Use disinfectant spray to prevent bacterial growth
Allow to dry before storing - never put it in a bag while damp

Regular cleaning is important - a groinguard sits close to the body and absorbs a lot of sweat.

What is the background of the XPRT brand?

The story of XPRT Fight Gear begins in 2005. An enthusiastic martial artist and entrepreneur has been dreaming for years of a shop filled with the finest fighting gear, available and accessible to everyone.

Through personal experience gained from training camps, seminars, competitions, and research, he developed a clear vision of how to offer martial arts, combat sports, and martial arts equipment to a broader audience in the new millennium.

With extensive experience in Thai boxing, boxing, karate, and especially ITF Taekwon-do, Fight2Win takes its first steps toward a complete product range. Initially, this consisted exclusively of ITF Taekwon-do uniforms and safety equipment under the Taekwon-do.nl brand and website.

The men's XPRT Basic groinguard is made of plastic and polyester—the hard plastic shell absorbs and distributes the impact of punches, while the polyester lining provides comfort. The women's XPRT Basic groinguard is made of polyurethane—a more flexible material that better adapts to women's anatomy and remains comfortable during movement.
