Boxing handwraps for extra reinforcement of fists and knuckles
Bandages are used under boxing gloves in boxing and kickboxing. A handwrap ensures that you get a compact fist and provides extra protection for your knuckles and fingers. A bandage also absorbs the sweat that comes from your hands. This keeps your boxing gloves in good condition and keeps them smelling fresh.
The standard handwraps are wrapped around the hand and then the boxing gloves are put on over it. We usually sell them from 250 cm (100 inch) and long from 450 cm (180 inch). For women and girls we have special nice colors like purple and pink. Alternatives are inner gloves or gel wraps . These have a gel filling on the top so that the knuckles enjoy extra protection. Do you want to try them on first? Then visit our store in Capelle aan den IJssel.
Benefits of using bandages in boxing and kickboxing
We always recommend people to use handwraps. The main advantage is that your fist becomes compact . This allows you to hit harder and reduces the chance of nasty injuries. Another big advantage is that the bandages absorb sweat. This prevents sweat from getting into your boxing gloves. And they also start to smell less quickly! And that is nice.

Should I choose 250 cm or 450 cm?
The 250 cm size is ideal for children and adult women with narrow hands. That length is really enough. Adult men should really use the 450 cm . Only then can you optimally protect your hands. And if you quickly get problems with your wrists, you should also use 450 cm. There are also people who train with a double handwrap.
What is the correct way to put it on?
There are many ways to put on handwraps. Everyone has his or her own way. The most important thing is that you wrap the impact area extra well. You also have to stabilize the wrist. You can also choose to take your thumb with you. This video shows how to put on 250 cm. And this video shows a super easy way to put on 450 cm.
Washing boxing handwraps?
Handwraps that you use should be washed after each training to keep them hygienically clean and soft. A hand wash is best, but you can also wash them in the washing machine at a low temperature and few revolutions. They should not be put in the dryer. Before washing, it is best to fasten the Velcro closures to prevent other materials from sticking to them.
How do you maintain your handwraps?
- Before first use, wash them
- Wash them after every workout, or at least regularly
- Machine wash at 30°C and low speed
- Fasten the Velcro during washing.
- Do not tumble dry!
- After washing, it is best to roll them up and store them to avoid wrinkles and tangles.
- Use a washing bag to prevent the handwraps from tangling together during washing.
