Punching mitts are the basic equipment of every serious gym. At Fight2Win, you'll find more than 30 different models from the world's best martial arts brands.

Rival Boxing Gear has the widest range of punching mitts in our store—from the affordable RPM7 (Carbonium PU, curved striking surface, 4 colors) to the professional RPM5 Parabolic, RPM10 Intelli-Shock and the top models RPM1 Ultra and RPM100 Professional.

The RPM3 Air 2.0 is the lightest model in the range—ideal for trainers who work with mitts for hours without fatigue. It is also particularly suitable for working with heavyweights and fighters who punch hard, thanks to the excellent cushioning they provide.

Winning delivers Japanese precision in every model—entirely handmade and used by the world's best boxing coaches. The CM-5 Oval, CM-10 Curved, CM-20 and CM-65 High-Grade are each designed for a specific training purpose, from speed work to heavy pad work.

We also stock punching mitts from Twins Special (PML10, PML21), Booster (BPM1), Cleto Reyes (Coaching, two versions), Hayabusa (PTS3 Micro), King Pro Boxing (Revo Hybrid) and Super Pro (Target Mini).

Each model is selected for ergonomics, cushioning, and durability —so trainers can work with mitts comfortably for hours without overloading their wrists or hands.

Choose punching mitts by size – micro, medium or hybrid

Punching mitts generally come in three sizes, each with its own training purpose.

Micro punching mitts

These have a small striking surface and are intended for experienced trainers working on precision and speed. The  Hayabusa PTS3 Micro and  Rival RPM3 Air 2.0 are the lightest models in our range—ideal for long sessions that place minimal strain on the trainer.

Medium punching mitts

This is the most common size and suitable for virtually everyone, regardless of skill level, gender, or age. The  Rival RPM series (RPM7 through RPM100) and the  Winning CM models all fall into this category. Winning is, of course, extremely high-end and exclusive. The striking surface is large enough for comfortable pad work, yet compact enough for fast movements.

Hybrid punching mitts

These are the largest size and can also absorb kicks and knees—almost an all-in-one solution. The  Twins Special PML21 (35 x 22 x 7 cm),  King Pro Boxing Revo Hybrid and  Booster BPM1 are the hybrid models in our range. With these pads, you essentially no longer need separate Thai pads or kicking shields.

Fight2Win has reweighed every model in our range and listed the weight in the product's size chart. en vermeld in de maattabel bij het product.

Rival RPM7 is the most colorful model in our range—available in four versions: black-silver, black-gold, black-red, and blue.

Punching mitts for boxing, kickboxing, Muay Thai and more

Punching mitts can be used in virtually all martial arts, and that is reflected in our range.

For boxing the Rival RPM series and Winning CM models are the first choice - lightweight, precise, and designed for fast punch combinations. The Cleto Reyes Coaching punching mitts are also popular in the boxing world thanks to their Mexican craftsmanship and excellent cushioning.

For kickboxing and Muay Thai the hybrid models are the most versatile. Twins Special PML21 and King Pro Boxing Revo Hybrid not only absorb punches, but also kicks and knees - allowing you to provide a complete training session with just one pair of mitts.

For MMA and krav maga the Rival RPM10 Intelli-Shock and Booster BPM1 are strong choices thanks to their broad versatility and robust shock absorption.

For training with heavyweights and "heavy-hitters", the Rival RPM3 Air 2.0 are ideal - compact, lightweight, and designed for maximum impact cushioning.

Punching mitts are also popular with personal trainers for conditioning and strength training outside traditional martial arts. They are compact, easy to carry, and suitable for use anywhere.

Hand compartment, closure and wrist support – what are the differences?

When choosing punching mitts, trainers have three choices regarding the hand compartment and the type of closure.

Open or closed fingers - Punching mitts with open fingers, such as the  Twins Special PML21, offer better ventilation during extended sessions. Closed models provide more protection for the trainer’s fingers. This is primarily a matter of personal preference.

Slip-in pocket or hook-and-loop closure - Some mitts simply slide on, while others have an adjustable  hook & loop hook-and-loop closure such as the  Rival RPM series. A closure provides greater stability and adapts to different hand sizes—a clear advantage during intensive use.

Wrist support and ergonomics - This is where the price difference is most noticeable. More expensive models such as the  Rival RPM100 Professional (pre-curved, specifically designed for the left and right hands),  Winning CM-65 and  Twins Special PML have a superior ergonomic fit that actively supports the wrist and prevents overuse. This is often completely absent in cheaper models.

The benefits of pad work – why every martial artist needs punching mitts

Pad work is one of the most effective forms of training in martial arts. The benefits are wide-ranging:

  • Training reflexes - the trainer calls out changing locations and forces the fighter to react quickly
  • Conditioning - an intensive pad session is an excellent cardio workout
  • Improving technique - punches, kicks, and combinations are practiced on a moving target
  • Improving defense - the trainer can also simulate attacks, teaching the fighter to evade and parry
  • One-on-one focus - pad work gives the trainer direct feedback on the quality of each technique

With the right punching mitts - from an affordable Rival RPM7 to a professional Winning CM-65 - you get the most out of every training session. In short: every serious martial artist should have a pair of punching mitts.

Care and lifespan of punching mitts

Good punching mitts can last through many training sessions—provided you maintain them properly. Their lifespan varies by material.

Microfiber PU and Carbonium PU - as used in the  Rival RPM series - are relatively easy to maintain. Wipe them with a damp cloth after every training session and let them dry completely before storing them. They withstand more moisture than leather and are less prone to drying out.

Leather punching mitts - such as the  Twins Special PML and Cleto Reyes Coaching models—require a little more attention. Use a mild leather cleaner or conditioner to keep the material supple. Avoid harsh cleaning products that can dry out or discolor the leather.

The following applies to all models:

  • Never store your punching mitts  in a closed gym bag— this causes odors and mold
  • Always let them  dry completely before storing them, preferably in a ventilated place
  • Regularly check the  hook-and-loop fasteners and seams for wear—these are the parts that show signs of use first
  • Do not store them  in direct sunlight to prevent discoloration and drying out

How do I properly maintain my punching mitts?

Let punching mitts air-dry after every training session — never store them in a closed bag. Wipe them clean with a damp cloth after use. Leather punching mitts (Twins, Cleto Reyes, Winning) should be treated regularly with leather cream to prevent drying out. Synthetic punching mitts are maintenance-free but more sensitive to prolonged exposure to sweat—wiping them down regularly also extends their lifespan. zijn onderhoudsvrij maar gevoeliger voor langdurige blootstelling aan zweet - ook die regelmatig schoonvegen verlengt de levensduur.

What are micro pads?

Micro mitts are extra-small punching mitts.

These are smaller and lighter than regular punching mitts and are ideal for very fast pad work.

In general, they are used by advanced fighters.

What are hybrid pads?

Hybrid pads are a combination of large Thai pads and small punching mitts.

Hybrid pads offer the convenience, speed, and versatility of both types of pads. This makes them suitable not only for punches and hand techniques, but also for kicks.

They are generally heavier than regular punching mitts, but considerably lighter than Thai pads.

This allows coaches and personal trainers to conduct extended training sessions covering all techniques.

What is the difference between punching mitts, focus pads, Thai pads and kicking shields?

Punching mitts, also known as focus pads called compact pads that are held by a trainer during a training session. The terms punching mitts and focus pads are used interchangeably. However, in our view, there are subtle differences between them, which is why our website distinguishes between them. Punching mitts are primarily intended for punches and punching techniques.

Thai pads, also known as kickpads or pao, are larger pads held by a trainer for practising both punches and kicks.

Punching shields are usually large, round cushions that the trainer or partner holds in front of the body. They are particularly suitable for various punching techniques, including hooks, liver shots and uppercuts.

Kicking shields are the really large cushions used for punches and kicks. They are ideal for beginners and children who, frankly, are not yet very accurate. They are also highly suitable for advanced practitioners, as these shields allow them to practise their technique with full force .

Are punching mitts also suitable for children?

Yes—for children, lightweight, compact punching mitts are the best choice. The Super Pro Target Mini, Hayabusa PTS3 Micro, and XPRT V4 Strikeforce are popular choices for parents and coaches who work with children. They are light enough for an adult to hold for a long time without getting tired, and compact enough to provide a clear target for smaller fists. For children who want to train at home with a parent, these models are ideal—require little space, are easy to store, and are ready to use right away.
