Maintaining Winning jump ropes - leather requires extra care
The two Winning jump rope models each require a slightly different approach to care.
Winning F-66 (plastic cable) - Wipe the cable with a dry cloth after use. Store the rope coiled at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and heat. Preferably jump on a wooden floor or rubber mat - concrete wears the cable out faster.
Winning F-16 Leather (leather cable) - Leather requires extra care. Treat the cable regularly with a leather cleaner or conditioner to prevent it from drying out and cracking. Store at room temperature, away from moisture and direct sunlight. A dry leather cable loses its flexibility and can crack with intensive use.
Both models have ribbed handles that can accumulate dirt in the grooves over time - a damp cloth keeps them clean and provides a secure grip.

What is the difference between a regular jump rope and a speedrope?
A speedrope is designed to spin smoothly for rhythm and faster jumping techniques. A traditional or weighted jump rope can feel different as it spins and offer more resistance.
Weighted speedropes are also available. So don't choose based on the name alone; compare the cable or rope, handles, weight and the exercises you want to do.
As a starting point, stand on the middle of the rope and hold the handles up alongside your body. A length that brings the handles to somewhere between your chest and armpits is often used as an initial setting.
The ideal length also depends on your technique, body proportions and the type of rope. Test the setting before cutting off too much, as you can't undo it.
A jump rope is a compact tool for practicing rhythm, coordination, and fitness. You can start slowly and gradually increase the duration or pace.
Make sure you have enough clear space and a suitable surface. Rapid progress, a specific number of calories burned, or weight loss are not guaranteed outcomes.
