Wrapped by champions. Made for you.

A good handwrap is the difference between a hand that lasts a year and a hand that causes problems after three months.

Rival knows this - because the brand was founded by someone who has wrapped thousands of hands in the corner of world champions.

The Mexican Stretch and the Guerrero are two different characters, but share the same obsession: maximum protection, perfect fit, every training session. Below you will find everything you need to make the right choice.

Rival handwraps – thinner, stronger, better

Rival handwraps are not an afterthought—they are the foundation of every training session. Developed by people who know what happens inside a boxing glove, Rival handwraps are thinner than conventional handwraps yet provide the same—even better—protection for your knuckles, metacarpals, and wrists.

The secret lies in the material composition: a carefully selected blend of cotton, nylon, and polyviscose that provides the perfect balance of stretch, durability, and comfort. Rival handwraps take up less space in your boxing gloves, fit more snugly around the wrist, and last longer than most alternatives on the market.

Mexican Stretch from Guerrero – the two Rival hand wrap lines compared

Rival offers two lines of handwraps, each with its own character:

Mexican Stretch - the classic choice. Made from a nylon-cotton blend for a light, elastic stretch. Its slimmer profile takes up less space in your glove. Available in 300, 380, 450, and 530 cm—for every hand size and wrapping preference. Ideal for everyday use in boxing, kickboxing, and thai boxing.

Guerrero - the next level. A hybrid of Mexican style and traditional cotton, made from 70% polyviscose and 30% nylon. Thicker, more comfortable, and with superior tension. Guerrero is the premium choice for boxers who want more body and protection from their handwraps. Available in 450 cm in muted, premium colors.

In short: Mexican Stretch for those who want to wrap lightly and quickly, Guerrero for those seeking maximum support and comfort.

Choosing the right handwrap length

The right length depends on your hand size and your wrapping style.

As a rule of thumb:

  • 300 cm - for small hands or minimal wrapping (wrist and knuckles only)
  • 380 cm - standard for average-sized hands, enough for a full wrap
  • 450 cm - the most popular length, suitable for most boxers and kickboxers
  • 530 cm - for large hands or boxers who want extra layers for maximum protection

Not sure? Then choose 450 cm — it's the most versatile size and the bestseller in our range. The Guerrero is available exclusively in 450 cm.

Rival handwraps – colors and availability

Rival handwraps are available in a wide range of colors—from classic to eye-catching.

The Mexican Stretch is available in: White, Black, Orange, Pink, Blue, Yellow, Purple and Red — ideal if you want to match your handwraps with your gloves or gym outfit.

The Guerrero is available in premium, muted colors: Black, Charcoal Gray, Navy Blue, Khaki Green, Wine Red and Gray - matching the premium look of this line.

Both models are delivered per pair and feature a thumb loop and hook-and-loop closure.

Rival handwraps – for boxing, kickboxing and thai boxing

Rival handwraps are designed for western boxing but are equally at home in any combat sport where your hands go into a glove. They are used daily for:

  • Boxing - the primary application, including by professionals
  • Kickboxing - under sparring and bag gloves
  • Thai boxing - for training and sparring
  • Cardio boksen & fitness boxing - as light protection under gel-wraps or lightweight gloves

Handwraps are essential basic gear - not an optional accessory. They protect the small bones in your hand that are vulnerable to repeated impact without support. Rival's founder Russ Anber—a cutman and trainer of world champions—has personally wrapped thousands of hands and knows better than anyone how important the right handwrap is.

Caring for your Rival handwraps

Rival handwraps are designed to be washed time and time again without losing quality.

A few tips for maximum durability:

  • Wash them in a laundry bag - especially the Guerrero, to prevent tangling and wear of the woven material
  • Roll them up after washing - this helps them retain their shape and keeps them ready for the next training session
  • Let them dry completely before use - damp handwraps can damage the inside of your gloves
  • Have multiple sets - if you train more than once a week, this is highly recommended so you always have dry handwraps

The Mexican Stretch is machine washable. It is best to wash the Guerrero separately in a laundry bag for optimal results.

Which size Rival handwraps should I choose?

The standard size of handwraps for adults is 180", which is approximately 450 cm. This is also by far the best-selling length.

If you find that too much, have smaller hands, or want to wrap less, you can choose 380 cm.

If you want extra wrapping for added support for your knuckles and wrists, you can choose the extra-long 530 cm. Please note: this is exceptionally long and usually not suitable for beginners.

Why are the Rival handwraps the best-selling products in the Fight2Win range?

Combine Rival handwraps premium quality with a competitive price - and were founded by someone who has wrapped thousands of hands in the corners of world champions. That expertise is reflected in every detail: the right amount of stretch, the perfect width, and a material that lasts training after training without stretching out or losing its shape.

What is the best way to wash boxing handwraps?

You can best wash handwraps by placing them in a laundry bag or bra bag and washing them in the washing machine at 30°C or lower. Hand-washing is actually even better.

It is important to fasten the hook-and-loop closure before washing to prevent it from catching on other clothes or the handwraps themselves. After washing, let the handwraps air-dry naturally. Do not put them in the dryer, as they may shrink and crease unnecessarily.

  • Partially roll up the handwraps and place them in a laundry bag or bra bag.
  • Wash the handwraps in the washing machine at a maximum of 30°C or hand-wash them.
  • Let the handwraps air-dry, preferably hung up at full length.
  • Do not put the handwraps in the dryer.

Extra tips:

  • Wash the handwraps regularly (after every training session) to keep them hygienically clean and fresh.
  • You can use a mild detergent if desired, but rinse the handwraps thoroughly to prevent soap residue.
  • Let the handwraps dry completely after washing before using them again.

How do I put on handwraps?

There are many different ways and variations to put on short and long handwraps. As you use them more often, you’ll develop your own preference: some people wrap more around the wrists, while others wrap a little more around the knuckles of their fists.
