Stay stable on your feet. Protected with every kick.

From black to blue, from XS to XL – XPRT ankle guards are the standard choice for kickboxers and Muay Thai practitioners at every level.

XPRT ankle guards provide compression and stability with every kick

Ankle guards are essential for kickboxing and thai boxing: they provide compression for the ankles and metatarsals, improve blood circulation, and reduce the risk of injuries. The XPRT Stretch ankle guards are made from a lightly stretchy polyester-elastane blend that conforms to the foot without constricting it.

Available in black, pink, red, and blue—for children and adults.

The right size for optimal support

XPRT ankle guards are available in XS to XL. The black version has the widest size range, making it the most universal choice. The colored versions are available in smaller sizes—ideal for children and women.

Choose a size based on your shoe size—refer to the size chart on the product page for suitable advice.

Suitable for kickboxing, thai boxing and MMA

XPRT ankle guards are primarily designed for kickboxing and thai boxing, but are also suitable for MMA and personal training. The compression provides extra stability when throwing kicks and helps keep the ankle joint warm during intense training sessions.

Wash the ankle guards at a low temperature and air-dry them to maximize their lifespan.

Frequently asked questions — XPRT ankle guards

What is the background of the XPRT brand?

The story of XPRT Fight Gear begins in 2005. An enthusiastic martial artist and entrepreneur has been dreaming for years of a shop full of the finest fighting gear, available and accessible to everyone.

Through personal experiences in the form of training camps, seminars, competitions, and research, he gained a clear vision of how to offer martial arts, combat sports, and martial arts equipment to a broader audience in the new millennium.

With extensive experience in Thai boxing, boxing, karate, and especially ITF Taekwon-do, Fight2Win takes its first steps toward a complete product range. Initially, this consisted exclusively of ITF Taekwon-do uniforms and safety equipment under the Taekwon-do.nl brand and website.

Then came the slogan: Fight2WinAnd eventually, with the help of other martial artists and graphic designers, a logo and name emerged for a groundbreaking and affordable martial arts brand: XPRT Fight Gear!

What do you wear ankle guards for?

Ankle guards are worn to provide additional ankle support. Thanks to the extra reinforcement from the ankle guards, the risk of injuries is reduced. They provide a compression effect and also strengthen the vulnerable metatarsal bones.

Why do Muay Thai fighters wear ankle guards?

Muay Thai fighters wear ankle guards to provide extra protection against injuries. They are one of the few types of protective gear allowed in a Muay Thai fight.

In Thai boxing (and kickboxing promotions such as Glory, Enfusion, etc.), fighters wear handwraps, boxing gloves, a mouthguard, and a groinguard. Nothing else. Shin guards are not allowed, but ankle guards are. These provide that little bit of extra protection fighters can use.

Good ankle guards help strengthen the ankle and prevent it from buckling during kicks or movement. Ankle guards also help absorb some of the impact, protecting the bones and joints in the ankle from damage.

Muay Thai ankle guards are essential for anyone who wants to train Muay Thai seriously. They provide support and protection for the ankles, which are vulnerable to injuries during kicks and other movements.

There are many different brands and styles of Muay Thai ankle guards available, so it is important to choose the right pair. Fortunately, we have already selected a range from many brands for you.

It is also a good idea to ask your trainer or training partners whether they have any tips and which ones they would recommend.

What material are the XPRT ankle guards made of, and what benefits does it offer?

The XPRT ankle guards are made of polyester with a light elastane blend—a durable and elastic fabric that adapts to the contours of the foot for a snug fit. The material provides elasticity and a compression effect that promotes blood circulation, reduces fatigue, and offers additional support to the ankles and metatarsal bones during training.

Why are ankle guards important in kickboxing and thai boxing?

Ankle guards provide compression and support for the vulnerable ankle joint and metatarsal bones, significantly reducing the risk of injuries. The compression keeps the ankle joint warm, helping muscles and joints stay better warmed up during training. In addition, the guards provide extra stability when executing kicks and prevent slipping on the mat.
