What brands and materials do top fighters in professional boxing wear?

It is very interesting to know what kind of boxing gloves real professional boxers wear and use during their training sessions and fights. And we are not talking about what they wear during a sponsored training session or photoshoot, but about the equipment they genuinely step into the ring with confidently. We scoured the internet for everything we could find on the subject.

Most popular boxers in 2025

At present, some of the most popular boxers from each weight class include Oleksandr Usyk, Tyson Fury (retired? Or will he return after all?), Canelo Alvarez, Errol Spence Jr., Naoya Inoue, Gervonta Davis, Teofimo Lopez, Josh Taylor, Terence Crawford, Artur Beterbiev, Dmitry Bivol, and none other than Vasyl Lomachenko. Please note: this list is far from complete!

Oleksandr Usyk

Oleksandr Usyk is currently the heavyweight champion with most boxing organizations and was recently the first undisputed heavyweight champion in a long time. Usyk has worn Rival boxing gloves for years, both during training and on fight night as fight gloves. In his most recent bout against Tyson Fury, Usyk wore custom-made Rivals of the RFX-Guerrero Pro Fight Gloves type. During his sparring sessions, he wears the Rival RFX-Guerrero Sparring, which is clearly visible during his training sessions with, among others, Daniel Lapin.

Canelo Alvarez

Canelo Alvarez is a highly popular and enormously talented boxing champion. He has phenomenal technique and footwork, and is also hugely popular on social media with his own clothing line and boxing brand: "No Boxing, No Life". Canelo has entered the ring wearing boxing gloves from several brands during fights, including custom Winning MS200B and custom Grant Pro Fight Gloves.

Naoya Inoue

Naoya Inoue is the wildly popular Japanese multiple world champion. This enormously technical boxer has won world titles in no fewer than four different weight classes. On December 26, 2023, he became the first undisputed super bantamweight champion ever and an undisputed champion in two weight classes. Inoue has worn boxing gloves from several brands during fights, primarily Cleto Reyes Fight Gloves and, of course, the Japanese Winning MS200B in a custom version. Footage clearly shows that top boxing brand Winning Japan is used extensively during his training sessions.

Gervonta Davis

Gervonta Davis is a lightweight world champion with an enormously impressive record. This driven boxer has defended the world title he won in 2019 several times. Everyone surely remembers the massively hyped and sensational fight against fellow countryman Ryan Garcia. Davis won the bout by knockout in the seventh round after a spectacular boxing match. Davis is almost always seen in a complete Winning Japan setup, although he has also been spotted several times with custom-made Grant Fight Gloves. He has also been seen with the old-school RB5 bag gloves from Rival Boxing Gear.

Teofimo Lopez

Teofimo Lopez is the popular multiple boxing world champion in two different weight classes. The parents of this tough boxer from the Bronx, New York, are originally from Honduras. Lopez is the perfect example of fighting his way relentlessly to the top from nothing. During his training sessions, he primarily wears boxing gear from Winning Japan and has appeared in the ring several times with custom Grant Boxing Gloves.

Artur Beterbiev

Artur Beterbiev is a tough light heavyweight boxer of Russian-Canadian descent. On October 12, 2024, he won the WBA and IBO world titles from Dmitry Bivol, but lost them again to Bivol in a rematch on February 22. Beterbiev is always spotted with Rival Boxing Gear and always wears the Rival RFX-Guerrero Pro Fight Gloves during his fights.

Dmitry Bivol

Dmitry Bivol, a hard-hitting Russian boxer, is the current light heavyweight boxing world champion. He won this title from fellow countryman Beterbiev in February. To date, Bivol has lost only one bout, against that same Beterbiev, and has since gotten his revenge. Bivol has worn custom Grant boxing gloves in the fight ring several times.
