Rico Verhoeven was scheduled to compete in March in a highly anticipated world title fight against Antonio Plazibat. Preparations seemed to be going smoothly until that one moment last week. Rico Verhoeven was getting ready to train, began his warm-up, and stepped awkwardly. He twisted his knee and immediately felt that something was seriously wrong.
'The King of kickboxing' rushed to the hospital. An MRI scan showed that the injury was more serious than initially thought. He even had to undergo surgery. Fortunately, that is now behind him and everything went well. From his hospital bed, Rico is already setting his sights on returning to the ring.
The first step toward Collision 5 was taken today. This is not an obstacle, but an opportunity.
