From entry-level models to professional competition headgear: the full range is in stock.

Built for the ring. Chosen by boxers.

Below you’ll find our comprehensive guide to boxing headgear - from types and materials to sizing advice and brand comparisons. Whether you’re looking for your first sparring headgear or upgrading to a professional level: we’ll help you make the right choice.

Protection to match your level—from your first training session to the professional ring

A headgear for boxing is not a one-size-fits-all choice. Recreationalists and beginners are well served by the Rival RHG60F 2.0 (synthetic leather, S-XL) or the King Pro Boxing Revo 1 (375 g, S-L).

Advanced choose the Rival HG20 Classic (leather, 470 g, F2W choice) or the Rival HG30 (leather, 385 g, bestseller).

Serious advanced boxers go for the Rival RHG10 Intelli-Shock with D3O™technology or the Hayabusa T3 with T-Cross Strap.

Professionals choose the Rival RHG100 Professional (microfiber, 300 g), the Cleto Reyes Cheek Protector (leather, handmade in Mexico) or the Winning FG-2900 (270 g, Made in Japan).

Open face, cheek protector or face-bar – which type suits your training?

Fight2Win offers three types of headgear for boxing.

  • Cheek protector- the standard for training and sparring: protects the temples, ears, and cheeks. These are the most common models in our range: Rival HG20 Classic, HG30, RHG10 Intelli-Shock, RHG-Guerrero, Hayabusa T3, Twins HGL3, King Pro Boxing, Cleto Reyes Cheek Protector and Winning FG-2900/FG-5000.
  • Open face (Rival RHGC2 Amateur): without cheek protection - specifically for amateur boxing matches (USA Boxing approved), where maximum visibility and freedom of movement are required.
  • Face-bar (Rival RHGFS3, Cleto Reyes Round Face-Bar): with a protective bar for the face - for recovery training or maximum facial protection.

The Rival HG30, Hayabusa T3, Twins HGL3 and Cleto Reyes Cheek Protector are all suitable for multiple sports.

Specifically for competitive boxing, the Rival RHGC2 Amateur (USA Boxing approved) is the clear choice.

The Rival RHGFS3 Face-Bar and Cleto Reyes Round Face-Bar are ideal for training sessions where maximum facial protection is desired.

The Winning FG-2900 and FG-5000 are the top choice for professional boxers seeking the lightest and most comfortable protection.

Maintenance and lifespan – how to keep your headgear in top condition

A leather headgear (Rival, Cleto Reyes, Hayabusa T3 LX) requires regular leather care with a suitable conditioner.

After use, always let it air out- never store it in a closed bag. VYLAR®-2(Hayabusa T3 series) and synthetic leather(Twins, King Pro Boxing) are easy to clean with a damp cloth.

Check the hook-and-loop closure regularly for wear. With intensive use, quality headgear from Rival, Hayabusa, or Cleto Reyes will last for many hours of training. Always store your headgear in a dry, well-ventilated place.

Frequently asked questions — Headgear boxing

What is the benefit of good headgear?

Depending on the design, headgear provides extra coverage around areas such as the forehead, cheeks and ears. A proper fit and clear visibility are important for training equipment to be practical.

More facial coverage does not mean that all types of head injury are prevented. Headgear does not guarantee protection against concussion and is not a reason to sparren harder or without restraint. Check the intended use and the training or competition rules.

Collections

Why do some headgear have an open chin?

An open chin design leaves more room around the lower part of the face than a closed chin or face-bar design. This can feel more spacious and allow greater freedom of movement.

Your actual field of vision depends on the overall shape, your head size and the fit. An open chin design does not guarantee that you will see every punch coming. Compare the coverage and visibility of the specific model in your own fighting stance.

Collections

Why do some headgear pieces have a closed chin guard?

A closed chin design provides more coverage around the lower part of the face than a fully open design. This can make the fit and contact with your face feel different.

On the other hand, extra coverage can affect visibility and freedom of movement. So compare the actual fit and visibility of the model. A closed chin design does not prove a higher overall level of protection and does not guarantee protection against a concussion.

Collections

How long does headgear last?

That depends on use, maintenance, storage and the model's construction. A brand or purchase price does not guarantee a minimum number of years.

Check the padding, seams, outer material and fastenings regularly. Stop using headgear if damage or wear affects its fit or performance. Smelling clean and fresh does not mean it is still in good condition.

Collections

Is headgear for boxing and kickboxing the same?

Some headgear can be used across multiple disciplines, but fit, visibility, fastening, and permitted design vary by sport and type of training.

A boxing model is therefore not automatically suitable for kickboxing, Thai boxing, or MMA. Check the intended use and the rules for the relevant training session or competition.

How should headgear (for boxing) fit?

Headgear should fit snugly without causing painful pressure. It should not twist easily or slip over your eyes and should allow you to see clearly and breathe freely.

Adjust the belts or laces according to the model's instructions and check the fit by moving your head gently. Adding more or tightening them further will not compensate for the wrong size. Check during training that the fit remains secure.
