Sock-style or hook-and-loop, entry-level or premium – the right shin guard for every athlete.

Fight2Win has the largest selection of shin guards in the Benelux – Twins, King Pro Boxing, Hayabusa, Booster, XPRT, Rival MMA and more, always in stock.

Lace-up or Velcro closure – which type of shin guard suits you?

Shin guards come in two main types. The standard model with elastic or hook-and-loop fastening is the standard choice for beginners—roomy, stable, and with sufficient padding. The sock model slides over the foot like a sock and is used by children and as extra protection under regular shin guards—not as the primary choice for advanced athletes.

Advanced athletes choose quality brands such as Twins, King Pro Boxing and Hayabusa —sturdy padding, a good fit, and proven durability for intense sparren.

Beginners – XPRT All-Round V1 and Pro V3 Midnight as entry-level choices

For beginners, the XPRT All-Round V1 is the logical first choice—spacious, stable, and with sufficient padding for the first training sessions and sparring sessions. The XPRT Pro V3 Midnight is a step up within the same brand—with a better fit and a slimmer profile for athletes who are already a little more advanced.

XPRT offers good value for money for athletes who are still figuring out which level suits them—without making a major investment right away.

Advanced sparren – Twins, King Pro Boxing and Hayabusa

Athletes who spar intensively choose Twins SGL7, King Pro Boxing and Hayabusa T3. The Twins SGL7 is a classic in Muay Thai gyms worldwide—handmade in Thailand, with sturdy padding and a proven fit. King Pro Boxing offers several models, from entry-level to competition.

The Hayabusa T3 combines premium materials with an anatomical design—less bulk, more protection. For athletes who spar weekly, investing in quality shin guards is the smartest choice.

MMA shin guards - Rival SH20 for grappling and MMA

MMA shin guards are different from kickboxing shin guards—they are more compact, also provide instep protection, and allow greater freedom of movement for grappling and ground work. The Rival SH20 MMA is a specialist choice for athletes who train both striking and grappling.

For pure kickboxing or Muay Thai, regular shin guards with more padding are the better choice—MMA models are intentionally slimmer and less bulky so they don't hinder ground work.

Mid-range – Booster and XPRT Pro V3 for the regular trainer

Athletes who train several times a week but are not yet competing will find their match in the Booster V3 and XPRT Pro V3 range. Both offer more padding and better finishing than entry-level models, without the price tag of handmade premium brands.

Booster is a reliable Thai brand with a strong reputation in Muay Thai gyms—the V3 range is popular among athletes who want quality without the investment required for Twins or Hayabusa.

Sock model – for children and as extra protection under regular shin guards

The sock-style model slides over the foot like a sock and is popular with children due to its light weight and simple fit. Adults sometimes use the sock-style model as extra protection under regular shin guards - not as a replacement.

The XPRT Competitor V1 is available in many colors and is the most popular sock-style choice in the Fight2Win range—for boys, girls, and as an addition to existing protection.

Frequently asked questions — Men's shin guards

Can I also come by to try on and buy shin guards from you right away?

Yes.

You can absolutely come by our showroom to try on shin guards and purchase them right away. That way, you’ll know 100% for sure that you’ll leave the showroom with the right shin guards! Our physical showroom has the same stock as our online store.

There is always a specialist available to help you choose the right shin guard for you and your budget.

Is there a difference between women's and men's shin guards?

No.

There aren't really separate women's or men's shin guards. Shin guards are unisex, but women usually just choose a slightly smaller size of shin guards. These are available in various color combinations.

Women are generally a little shorter than men, so naturally they also need a smaller (and shorter) shin guard.

How long do shin guards last?

With intensive use, most good shin guards last approximately 1 to 1.5 years. After that, most shin guards need replacing.

Their lifespan naturally depends on several factors: maintenance, the quality of the materials used, and the type of training. Cheaper shin guards will not last this long.

Heavy bag training shortens the lifespan of shin guards by an average of six months.

A vulnerable point of every pair of shin guards is the elastic straps. This material naturally stretches over time. It is therefore important to put on your shin guards carefully and not pull hard on the elastic straps.

How should a shin guard fit?

A shin guard should fit snugly around the shin to provide the most effective protection and mobility. A shin guard consists of a safety kick and a shin protector. The part that protects the shin should start just above the ankle and end just below the knee. Ideally, the top strap should sit on the calf, as placing it in the back of the knee can cause irritation or pain.

What does hook-and-loop fastening mean?

A hook-and-loop closure is used on various products in our range, such as punching mitts, body protectors, headgear, and shin guards.

Shin guards most commonly feature this type of closure. Hook and loop means threading a strap through a buckle or loop, then pulling it back and tightening it.

Key benefits:

  • Adjustable fit: Hook-and-loop closures provide a precise fit, accommodate different calf sizes, and ensure that the shin guard stays securely in place during movement.
  • Ease of use: These closures are easy to fasten, making them convenient for quick adjustments, especially during training.
  • Secure closure: When properly fastened, hook-and-loop closures provide a secure and reliable fit, preventing the shin guards from shifting or slipping during sports.
  • Durability: High-quality hook-and-loop closures, such as those on the Twins SGL7 shin guards, are often stitched multiple times for added durability and can withstand frequent use.

Can I use shin guards on the punching bag?

Yes.

If you have bruises or sore shins, using shin guards is an option.

Using shin guards on the punching bag will leave “scuff marks” (stains, stripes, and smudges) on the shin guards and punching bag.
