Boxing gloves are the most important part of your sports equipment in most martial arts, such as boxing and kickboxing. Our entire collection of boxing gloves is very extensive. Therefore, we can well imagine that you find it difficult to make the right choice precisely because of the huge range.
Best-buy guide: Top 3 best women's boxing gloves
That is why there is now this best-buy guide especially for women. Moreover, there was already our website, where we have made a selection of boxing gloves that we find very suitable for women. And no, they are not all pink or in sugary colors. That can be, but we mainly looked (based on our experiences with customers) at which boxing gloves are more suitable for women.
Boxing gloves most suitable for women
There are actually no "real" boxing gloves made specifically for women. Boxing gloves are almost always unisex. Women's boxing gloves mainly differ from men's boxing gloves in color and weight.
Although most brands and manufacturers do not make separate women's boxing gloves, some martial arts brands such as Twins, Hayabusa, and Booster also specifically focus on women. We also have a very extensive selection of women's boxing gloves from the brand XPRT Fight Gear.
Important aspects when choosing boxing gloves for women
Now that you are ready to make a decision about your first or next pair of boxing gloves, we present you this blog with our findings. Some questions immediately come to mind:
- For which martial art will you use the boxing gloves?
- What type of boxing gloves do you prefer?
- Do you have a preference for the type of closure or the materials used?
- What is the budget you want to spend on a pair of boxing gloves?
Women's gloves for boxing and kickboxing
Most people look for a pair of boxing gloves (logically) for the most popular martial arts: boxing and kickboxing. That is what we will focus on in this guide.
For other group classes and self-defense systems, such as krav maga and cardio boksen, you can use the same boxing gloves.
If you are only going to train on the bag or work exclusively on pads with a personal trainer, we recommend looking at a pair of bag gloves. We have also written some very good best-buy guides for these.
At the time of writing, Fight2Win has a selection of no less than 300+ different boxing gloves in its assortment. From this, we will make a selection of the top 3 women's boxing gloves up to 200 euros. We conduct this research based on customer experiences and feedback, popularity in terms of sales, and our own expertise.
Division by price range
Since the available budget is often a determining factor for the choice, we have divided the boxing gloves into 3 price ranges: up to 100 euros, up to 200 euros, and the absolute top class above 200 euros.
The first part covered the category up to one hundred euros, because if you go well below this, you basically end up with "toy" boxing gloves, and that is not something we as a specialty store pay attention to.
In this second part of the best-buy guides for women's boxing gloves, we will examine the category with the most serious choices: gloves between 100 and 200 euros. Here you will find boxing gloves suitable for dedicated athletes who take their equipment seriously.
Criteria for scoring women's boxing gloves
When evaluating women's boxing gloves, we look at what we consider the most important qualities of women's boxing gloves: fit, protection, build quality, and comfort. We will score the boxing gloves based on these criteria.
-
Fit & comfort: By fit and comfort, we mean of course whether the gloves fit snugly without pinching. That the gloves are easy to put on, even with handwraps on, and provide enough room for the fingers. We also consider things like a comfortable grip bar (which helps you make a better fist) and good ventilation in our assessment of this aspect.
- Protection & support: Protection is the extent to which the boxing gloves do what they are intended for: protecting the opponent, but also your own hands, knuckles, and wrists. The closure is important here, as is the padding. The padding is actually the most important part of a boxing glove and is the hardest to judge without first using them (or testing them, as we do).
- Build quality: The materials used, finish, and sturdiness of the boxing glove. We also look at details such as the stitching and Velcro straps. We also take into account the durability of the padding with reasonably intensive use.
Since we have divided the women's boxing gloves, as stated earlier, into 3 price categories, we do not use price as a scoring criterion in this best-buy guide.
Best buy: Boxing gloves for women up to €200
- Hayabusa T3
- Rival RS2V
- Twins BGVL3/4
1. Hayabusa T3

The Hayabusa T3 has been a real bestseller for years when it comes to boxing gloves for both men and women. And rightly so. We have been selling Hayabusa gear for almost 10 years, but in recent years the brand has really become well known to the general public.
Fortunately, Hayabusa manages to maintain quality despite the huge scale increase. This is something many well-known brands struggle with when they suddenly experience a worldwide surge in popularity, as we have noticed from our own experience.
Everyone now knows the Hayabusa T3 thanks to the revolutionary closure that the innovative brand launched a few years ago: Dual-X Closure. This groundbreaking design ensures that the closure can be pulled very tight around the wrists. And this is an excellent innovation on the boxing glove market for many women (who generally have narrower wrists).
Appearance does not count as a scoring factor in this test, but we have often heard from our customers that they also find the Hayabusa T3 looks fantastic. It is clearly a distinctive glove and is now available in no less than over 30 different color schemes. The regular T3 is made of Vylar-2 and ranks first in this test. There are two versions above the "normal" T3: Kanpeki and LX, but both are over 200 euros.

Fit & comfort Hayabusa T3 (Score: 8/10)
The fit of the Hayabusa T3 is truly phenomenal, especially for women! All female customers find the compact hand compartment and the pleasant double Velcro closure a delight.
It is even the case that we sometimes sell 16 oz Hayabusas to teenage girls, who would normally take a 12 oz or at most 14 oz from another brand. This is because the Hayabusa is simply snug inside.
The thumb position is also experienced as comfortable by many women, but we must add a caveat that this really varies from person to person.
What we do find a huge downside, and why we score an 8 instead of a 9 in this category, is the heat buildup in the Hayabusa T3. They get much warmer inside than many other brands of boxing gloves. Now, for many people this is no problem during sports (you get warm anyway with boxing and kickboxing), but if you are sensitive to this, it is an important point to consider in your choice.
Nice glove, but the 14 oz is very small, so your fingers don’t sit comfortably inside the glove. Also, they dry slowly, so they stay damp for a long time.
These gloves from Hayabusa are equipped with the now-famous Dual-X closure. This patented system consists of 2 Velcro straps (instead of 1) that pull the gloves tightly around the wrists in opposite directions.
This provides an incredibly tight closure option, very close to classic lace-up boxing gloves. We do note, however, that in practice this is a bit trickier to put on than a boxing glove with a conventional closure. It can also happen that your handwraps stick to the Velcro if you’re not yet used to this closure.
Of course, there is also a nice grip bar in the (women’s) boxing gloves, which ensures you can make a good fist whether you choose a 12 oz, 14 oz, or even 16 oz. We score the Hayabusa T3 a solid and neat 8+ points for this aspect. It could be a 9 if the gloves didn’t get so incredibly warm.
Protection & Support Hayabusa T3 (Score: 9/10)
The padding of the T3 is firm and very good. The padding of the boxing gloves consists of multiple layers and is designed to absorb shocks very well. The hardness and thickness of the padding is, in our opinion, almost ideal and falls somewhere between a Twins and Cleto Reyes.
Due to the construction of the Hayabusa T3 with the system on the back of the hand (splint system) combined with the Dual-X closure, you get unparalleled wrist support. Almost no other boxing glove (except for the Rival RS11V and lace-up gloves) comes close.
Padding in the palms is absent because space is made for ventilation. This is a good thing, as otherwise the gloves would become really hot. However, there is a good protective layer over the edge of the side, which is very pleasant for support and absorbing blows.
Top gloves if you’re looking for a tight fit and wrist/palm support to absorb kicks, etc. Definitely worth the higher price.👍
In terms of protection and (especially) support, the Hayabusa T3 truly impresses. So much so that many people actually choose the same boxing glove again after their first few pairs. The Hayabusa T3 rightly scores 9 points.
Build Quality Hayabusa T3 (Score: 8/10)
The Hayabusa is no stranger to us, and we can honestly say that the build quality is excellent. You might expect problems with the elastics, but they hold up perfectly well with normal use.
Of course, people shopping in this price range understand that no boxing glove lasts forever and usually buy new ones when the padding clearly becomes too soft for safe use.
The stitching and finish of the Hayabusa T3 are also top-notch, and we rarely have issues with the durability of Hayabusa boxing gloves. Add to that the fact that the price is quite reasonable for the most important gear in your sports outfit. We rate the T3 with 8 points for quality.

Features Hayabusa T3:

| Extra | Double closure, splint system support |

2. Rival RS2V

The second model in this top 3 is from Rival Boxing Gear: the RS2V. The best-selling boxing glove from this brand is the RS11V, but that is in a higher price range. However, the RS2V is by no means inferior to the RS11V and may even be the better choice for women due to its design with a narrower cuff (conic cuff design).
The RS2V's are true gems of gloves, and we are big fans of all products from the Canadian brand. Literally all products from Rival Boxing Gear’s A-line will amaze you in terms of quality and innovation.
Like the Hayabusa T3, the Rival features a very innovative closure system: the Ergo-Strap Xtreme System. The Rival uses two separately counter-tensioned diagonal Velcro straps. This works well but requires practice and patience to master.
At the time of writing, the RS2V is available in 4 colors and all common sizes.

Fit & comfort Rival RS2V (Score: 8/10)
As soon as you put on the RS2V, you feel the gloves molding around your hands. This is true, as Rival has a unique foam lining that adapts to the shape and size of your hands. It feels truly amazing and gives you an incredibly "cozy" (we find it hard to find the right word) sensation.
Rival products are all developed under the guidance of experienced boxing coach Russ Anber (CEO of Rival Boxing Gear). The gloves are designed with human anatomy in mind, focusing on stance, posture, and wrist shape.
The RS2V are extremely comfortable and have a brilliant fit. The only reason we don't rate them higher is that the closure system is a bit tricky, especially if you do it hastily. In that respect, the Rival RS11V has it better sorted.
I would have preferred 1 closure instead of 2. They also fit quite tight. Otherwise a nice glove.
These top-class women's boxing gloves from Rival Boxing make an extra solid fist possible thanks to the extra padding in the palms and grip bar. This model, like Rival's premium model - the RS1 Ultra - uses a "conic cuff" design. This means the wrists start narrow and taper. We find this very comfortable, especially for narrower (women's) wrists.
The RS2V are made from Rival's own microfiber and not leather, as people often (wrongly) expect in this price range. Today's top-quality synthetic materials are often better than real 100% leather. We'll get to build quality shortly, but we want to mention that the RS2V do not have the heat buildup problem that the Hayabusa T3 has. They stay reasonably cool inside - as much as possible during intensive training.
Protection & support Rival RS2V (Score: 8/10)
The padding of all Rival boxing gloves is exceptionally good and the RS2V is no exception. It is no coincidence that many professional boxers train with gloves from Rival.
What the Rival's have that is very nice compared to many other boxing gloves is the extra padding across the entire width of the palm. This provides better grip, but it is also very comfortable when absorbing punch combinations during training.
In terms of the quality of the cushioning and overall padding on the striking surface, Rival is unmatched. The only reason we rate the boxing gloves slightly lower than the Hayabusa T3 for women is that the wrist support of the Hayabusa T3 is just a bit firmer. However, if you want better padding for hard strikes, the Rival's are definitely the (much) better choice. So this is really a personal preference, where we tend to think that the Rival is the better choice especially for more experienced fighters.
Rival's double closure system - Ergo-Strap Xtreme System - works well, but is a bit more awkward than that of the RS11V or the Hayabusa's. It takes some getting used to, but otherwise functions very well. Because it goes diagonally, it covers more surface area over the wrists and therefore offers extra support.
Would definitely buy them again, great support and comfort
Also in terms of protection and support, the RS2V performs very well and delivers a top performance. We give it a nice 8 points.
Build quality Rival RS2V (Score: 9/10)
We have never had complaints or remarks about the quality of Rival boxing gloves. Everything is very well put together, and Rival’s quality control is excellent. Rival’s well-known microfiber is really extremely strong, and in that respect, the Rival gloves will not wear out within their normal lifespan.
An advantage of synthetic material is that it retains colors much better than real leather. The paint will not crack since it is embedded in the material itself, rather than painted on.
We have been selling Rival boxing gloves for several years, and time and again they prove to be very well built. This also applies to the RS2V models from Rival Boxing Gear. We consciously choose to carry only the higher A-models of Rival in our assortment.
Since we simply have a pair of fantastic comfortable yet sturdy boxing gloves here, we rate the Rival RS2V gloves with a very neat 9 points!

Features Rival RS2V:
| Material | Microfiber |
| Closure | Ergo-Strap Xtreme System. |
| Sizes | 12 oz up to 16 oz |
| Extra | Palm padding, double closure |
| Colors | Black, red, blue, and white |
Advantages:
+ Excellent fit and protection
+ Rival's microfiber is really very durable material
Disadvantages:
- Ergo-Strap Xtreme System is somewhat less comfortable

3. Twins Special BGVL3/4

The top three of this test is completed by a classic in a fresh look: the Twins BGVL3 boxing gloves. This model has proven itself for decades and is authentically made in Thailand.
Twins Special never disappoints and delivers stable quality year after year. We have seen the price rise significantly over the past ten years, but unfortunately, this is the case with many products (also outside the martial arts world). Thailand is no longer a low-wage country, and that is actually worth mentioning.
The Twins boxing gloves for women follow a proven formula: 100% leather, thick soft padding, and a wide velcro closure. This model has remained unchanged on the market for many years, and many fighters swear exclusively by the relatively simple Twins gloves.
Twins has long since discovered that the market for boxing gloves has grown significantly, expanding from a few basic colors to dozens of color combinations. From basic black to the newest pastel purple color as shown in the attached photos.

Fit & comfort Twins Special BGVL3/4 (Score: 7/10)
Twins Special has had this model as a flagship in their range for years, alongside the other bestseller BGN (almost identical, only with padding in the palms) and the newer BGVL6. The BGVL3 is a relatively straightforward, no-nonsense boxing glove of solid quality without modern frills.
The model is appreciated by many people because it has remained consistent all these years. However, we find that Twins lag behind Rival and Twins in terms of fit for women. They are much wider, which is good if you have large hands, but less suitable for most women.
A big plus of the Twins boxing gloves is the pleasant, supple, and soft leather used. This natural material combined with ventilation holes in the palms provides the best airflow in this test and is perhaps one of the best overall in boxing gloves.
Regarding the fit, we definitely want to add that these gloves tend to "stretch out" quite a bit with use. This is certainly not negative but important to consider when choosing the weight of the boxing gloves. We have experienced that people found the gloves too tight immediately after purchase, but after a few training sessions, they appreciated them much more.
Good quality and fit. Beautiful color.
The Twins boxing gloves have a very nice and extra-wide Velcro closure that fits well around the wrists. Also, the short cuff model is appreciated by many people.
Protection & support Twins Special BGVL3/4 (Score: 7/10)
The padding of the BGVL3 is sufficient but, in our opinion, very soft. This is initially very pleasant for yourself and certainly for your training partners. However, from experience, we know that soft padding will become even softer over time until your knuckles start to poke through. Once it reaches that point, it is definitely time for a new pair. Of course, this largely depends on the force of the impact you make when punching.
The padding of the Twins is thick on the striking surface and also on the back of the hands. So you and your fists are very well protected. In this test, we chose the BGVL3 because we like the ventilation holes and because it is available in many more fun color options. If you also want extra padding in the palms (which not everyone does), we would advise you to consider the BGN. This is otherwise an almost identical boxing glove.
They are as expected!! 100%
Overall, the Twins Special boxing gloves offer good protection for your hands and your partners. The thumb is also nicely and naturally positioned. It is also sufficiently protected against any hits or impact due to the thickness of the padding.
The wrist is much less supported than, for example, with Rival or Hayabusa boxing gloves. You will really have to rely more on your technique and your handwraps for good wrist support. Because of this, we rate the Twins slightly lower than the direct competitors. This applies even more to women, as they will have much more space at the wrists (the cuff) of the gloves.
In terms of protection and support, we give the Twins BGVL3 a 7 out of 10 points.
Build quality Twins Special BGVL3/4 (Score: 8/10)
The 100% leather Twins boxing gloves never disappoint when it comes to build quality, we can confidently say after more than twenty years of sales. Since these are genuine leather boxing gloves, they do require care.
Always let them dry outside your bag and in a ventilated, dry space. Never do this on a heater or in sunlight (you should also avoid this with synthetic leather boxing gloves). The advantage of leather, however, is that you can care for it yourself. Not everyone does, and that’s fine, but to prevent cracks and drying out, we do recommend regularly lightly applying leather grease or leather lotion.
The leather used by Twins is supple and generally the colors hold up well. Small cracks are not uncommon over time, but this absolutely does not detract from the functionality.
With our experience with this Thai top brand and this model in particular, we rate the Twins Special BGVL3/4 with a solid 8 points.

Features Twins Special BGVL3/4:

| Closure | Velcro |

- Less in terms of wrist support

Essential information and questions about women's boxing gloves
What size boxing gloves for women?
Women generally choose 12 oz boxing gloves. This also depends on the martial arts brand and your own build.
90% of women choose a 12 oz glove, but if you are a bit smaller and lighter, you can also consider a 10 oz boxing glove. If you want to train a bit heavier or are a bit taller yourself, you can of course go for 14 oz boxing gloves. This also partly depends on the brand.
For every brand and model of (women's) boxing gloves, we have placed a unique size chart. Consult this as much as possible to have a good guideline.
What is the difference between women's and men's boxing gloves?
There are actually no differences. There are no boxing gloves specifically for women or men. Boxing gloves are almost always suitable for both men and women (after all, they are usually ready-to-wear).
Women generally have slightly narrower hands than men, so it is wiser to choose a lighter (smaller) boxing glove. These are often automatically a bit smaller and narrower in fit.
How do I determine my size boxing gloves as a woman?
Boxing gloves are not based on "normal" sizes, but on weight sizes expressed in ounces (oz).
General size chart for women's boxing gloves:
| Weight | Size |
|---|---|
| up to 57 kg | 10 oz |
| 57 to 70 kg | 12 oz |
| 70 to 85 kg | 14 oz |
| More than 85 kg | 16 oz |
For every brand and model of women's boxing gloves on our website, there is a unique size chart (at the size selection and at the bottom in the content). Here we provide the best possible guideline for what we think is the best choice for you for that specific model.
The rule of thumb is: “the heavier the person in question, the heavier the glove desired”. A heavier boxing glove generally has more padding and is therefore safer for the hands and the training partner. Trainers also generally prefer that you have heavier boxing gloves rather than lighter ones.
In short, women usually train with 10 oz, 12 oz, or 14 oz.
Which women's boxing gloves are best for bag training?
You can also use normal boxing gloves for bag training. However, they are not made for this and will wear out sooner than special bag gloves.
The Top Gloves from XPRT are, for example, a good choice. They offer excellent value for money and are also the winner of this test.
The advantage of "normal" boxing gloves is that you can train with them both on the punching bag and with a partner. However, traditional boxing clubs do not appreciate this. It is not intended that you damage the padding of your sparring gloves on the punching bag.
Separate bag gloves
Most of our customers actually prefer to buy only one pair of boxing gloves, although that is usually the best choice. If you regularly train on a punching bag (or with hand pads), it is really wiser to buy separate bag gloves for that. Both pairs will then last much longer.
If you want to purchase a pair of gloves specifically for punching bag training (and pads training), we definitely recommend the Rival RB50.
Are inner gloves or handwraps necessary for women's boxing gloves?
Yes. Wearing inner gloves is always recommended for women. Besides reinforcing your hands, they serve another (hygienic) purpose. Sweat is absorbed by the inner gloves, which you then wash. This keeps your gloves fresher and in better condition for longer.
Even better is to wear handwraps. These provide more support and protection. It may seem complicated to put them on, but you'll get the hang of it quickly. We often include links to videos on the product pages for handwraps to help you learn.
Another very popular option is to wear gel-wraps. These offer the convenience of inner gloves, the reinforcement of handwraps, and additionally the comfort of extra padding on your knuckles!
