Handwraps are fundamental equipment in almost all stand-up martial arts and their variants. In sports like boxing, kickboxing, thai boxing, and cardio boksen, almost everyone uses boxing wraps, also called bandages or windings.
Everyone who practices these fighting and ring sports, whether purely recreational or competitive, does well to have at least one, preferably several pairs of decent handwraps in their bag.
They are used in every training and are therefore at least as important as a good pair of boxing gloves. Choosing a nice pair of handwraps is therefore very important, and we are happy to help you with that in this best-buy guide.
Why do you wear handwraps in boxing, cardio boksen, and kickboxing?
Handwraps are intended to protect the bones in your hands, your knuckles, and your wrists during training in all martial arts where punching is involved. They ensure (when applied properly, of course) that your fist is more compact and your hands and knuckles can better absorb the blows.
The handwraps also provide essential support and alignment for the wrists, putting them in a better position and better able to absorb the shocks from punching. Handwraps also give your hands more grip as a fist and will make your boxing gloves literally fit "like a glove."
A nice added benefit, or positive side effect, is that the handwraps also absorb a lot of sweat that does not get back into your boxing gloves themselves. You can easily wash the handwraps after every training, something you better not do with your boxing gloves.
With good handwraps, you can train better and harder with much less risk of injury than without.
Best-buy guide for handwraps
Most people logically look for handwraps for the most popular martial arts: boxing, thai boxing, and kickboxing. However, even in more fitness-oriented classes like HIIT boxing and cardio boksen, almost everyone uses boxing wraps.
Criteria for scoring handwraps*
When evaluating the boxing wraps, we look at the most important properties of wraps: the quality of the fabric used and the finishing, the comfort, and the price. We will score the wraps based on these criteria.
- Quality: The fabric used, the finishing, and the sturdiness of the Velcro.
- Comfort & ease of use: The presence of a thumb loop, the length of the Velcro, and how comfortable the handwraps are for everyday use.
- Price: We have not made a subdivision into different price categories in this best-buy guide, so that is why we include it as a scoring factor.
Fight2Win has an enormous collection of different handwraps for boxing, kickboxing, and cardio boksen in the assortment. *From this assortment, we will make a selection of the top 9 based on customer experiences and feedback, popularity, external review sites, and our own expertise.

1. Twins Cotton CH

Finally, we have been able to add the Twins handwraps to our assortment and we are very happy about that. All Twins materials in Europe go through the distributor who determines the range. We have long asked to include, besides the boxing gloves, pads, and shin guards, also the smaller but equally important materials like handwraps and ankle guards in the assortment.
The Twins handwraps are made in the homeland of Muay Thai: Thailand. And they know very well there that good materials are essential in practicing all martial arts.
Quality Twins Cotton CH (Score: 9/10)
The Twins handwraps are extremely neatly finished as far as you can say that about a handwrap. The 100% cotton handwrap also looks and feels much more luxurious and pleasant than cheaper polyester variants. They feature a nice Twins brand label and are very durably made like all other products from Twins Special.
Comfort & ease of use Twins Cotton CH (Score: 9/10)
The handwraps from Twins are made of lightly stretchable cotton. Cotton is one of the most comfortable materials to wear. This applies to clothing, but certainly also to handwraps. The cotton from which the Twins handwraps are made is soft and comfortable.
The advantage of 100% cotton handwraps compared to polyester blends is that they are much more breathable. This is especially pleasant with handwraps because you will sweat enough already. The Twins handwraps are among the nicest handwraps we have ever had in our hands.
Furthermore, the Twins handwraps obviously have a comfortable thumb loop to start wrapping with and neatly finished Velcro to close. Our tip: let them dry naturally and hung out, because cotton wrinkles and shrinks much more than polyester types.
Price Twins Cotton CH (Score: 6/10)
The Twins handwraps fall into the higher price category, hence the somewhat lower score. However, the Cotton CH are more than worth the price, as you will benefit greatly from them during training.
As mentioned in the introduction, we included price as a scoring factor because we compare the handwraps in one category.
Features Twins Cotton CH:

| Closure | Thumb loop and Velcro |
| Sizes | 450 cm |
| Colors | Black, white, green, ... |
Pros:
+ Luxurious and soft 100% cotton

We have had the regular Hayabusa Perfect Stretch handwraps in our range for many years with great pleasure. This material is also widely used in socks, carpets, and other garments due to its positive properties: it is the strongest synthetic fiber type and at the same time resilient.
By using nylon yarn, the Hayabusa handwraps also maintain their desired elasticity for a very long time and crease minimally during washing. They also retain their color after frequent washing.

3. Rival Mexican stretch

The Rival Mexican Stretch handwraps are among our best-sellers in terms of wraps. The Canadian top brand has succeeded in offering quality handwraps at a very competitive price.
Besides the Mexican, Rival Boxing Gear has another model of handwraps in their range: the Guerrero's. The Mexican Stretch comes in multiple lengths besides the standard 180" (450 cm), so you can order the perfect length for you.
Rival Boxing Gear is truly a boxing brand through and through, with all key staff having a background in Western boxing. With this knowledge, they bring their products to market with real passion.

At first glance, the Rival handwraps appear somewhat more fragile (more on this under comfort) and less fancy than the Hayabusa or Twins, but don’t be fooled: these are truly top handwraps!
By using partly nylon yarn, the Rival handwraps maintain their desired elasticity for a long time and crease less during washing. They also retain their color after frequent washing.
Good stretch and softness; good material quality, not too thin or thick; 530cm allows you to wrap your wrist multiple times compared to most other handwraps - this is great for someone with large hands

Of course, they have a thumb loop and a Velcro closure to secure them. This looks a bit simpler compared to some other brands, but function takes precedence over appearance here.
