Fitness is aimed at getting and keeping your body in good condition. Fitness has two categories. Cardio training builds endurance, while strength training helps you build muscle mass.
Cardio Training
Cardio training is focused on improving your fitness. You work on your flexibility, coordination, and speed. The treadmill and exercise bike are examples of equipment suitable for this. Exercising with the help of steppers, cross-trainers, and rowing machines is also suitable for improving your fitness.
Strength Training
During strength training, you work on your fitness and do exercises that strengthen your muscles. You perform short, explosive movements and can use fitness equipment. You can also do strength training on the floor, for example with abdominal exercises and push-ups.
Benefits of Fitness
The word says it all: fitness makes your body fit. If you train actively, you are less likely to experience back problems because it strengthens your core. You pay more attention to your body when you exercise actively, and your body becomes stronger. Fitness also has a positive effect on your cholesterol levels and blood pressure.
Fitness Tips
- Give your body time to rest after an intensive workout. This allows your muscles to recover.
- If you want to train two days in a row, do not train the same muscle group. These muscles are still recovering, so doing so will not be effective.
- Pay attention to your posture while exercising. Poor posture can harm your body. Ask a professional for advice on this.
- Make fitness fun. Set goals and challenge yourself, for example by gradually spending more time on the treadmill. Or train so that you can gradually lift more weight on the fitness equipment.
