Adidas boxing shoes – lightweight construction, non-slip sole and ankle protection

Adidas boxing shoes are specially designed for the demands of the boxing ring: a thin non-slip rubber sole for grip during quick lateral movements, a lightweight construction that doesn't restrict footwork, and a mid-top design with long laces for secure ankle support.

The upper made of open mesh provides ventilation and flexibility. The partial EVA midsole absorbs shocks under the heel and midfoot—essential during constant movement in the ring.

Why boxing shoes – the difference from regular sports shoes in footwork and performance

Regular sports shoes are too heavy, too thick, and too stiff for the quick footwork that boxing requires. Boxing shoes are specifically designed for the ring: lightweight, flexible, and featuring a thin sole that provides direct contact with the floor. This improves balance, reaction speed, and footwork significantly.

Boxing shoes also provide extra protection against conditions such as blisters or eczema. Adidas boxing shoes are also suitable for Krav Maga, Systema and other indoor martial arts where quick footwork is essential.

How do I best maintain my boxing shoes?
  • Wipe your boxing shoes after every training session with a damp cloth to remove sweat and dirt. Do not use harsh cleaning products—a mild soap with water is sufficient. Then let the shoes air-dry at room temperature, never in the dryer or on a heater.
  • After every training session, let your boxing shoes air out completely- leave them open and do not store them directly in a closed sports bag. You can also use deodorizer here to absorb sweat. A light spray with a disinfecting shoe spray after training helps prevent bacteria and odors.
  • Leather boxing shoes require periodic leather care Use a leather cream or conditioner to keep the leather supple and prevent it from drying out. Apply the cream with a soft cloth and let it absorb. This significantly extends the shoes' lifespan and keeps the leather flexible.
