Jump ropes made of leather, plastic, and other materials
The difference mainly lies in the material used. You have jump ropes made of leather, metal, vinyl, and plastic.
A leather jump rope is a good choice since it is heavier in structure and therefore easier to jump with and curls less compared to the plastic version. Plastic and vinyl are somewhat lighter but also somewhat cheaper.
Another point to consider when buying jump ropes is the handle. A good jump rope jumps best if the handle is a bit larger. The presence of ball bearings is also nice, as this makes the rope turn smoothly.
What can you use a jump rope for?
Jump rope has existed for centuries! It is known as a toy for children with the familiar songs.
In recent decades, it has been used more often by adults, for example in the sport called Rope Skipping. You can use it to quickly lose weight, but also to train your endurance and muscles.
Within boxing, it has been used for years because the results are quickly visible, especially in terms of conditioning and leg muscles. With different exercises, you can make it fun for yourself.
Also, using ankle weights, for example, can make an exercise heavier and more effective. There are even special training schedules where you can keep track of this.
