Jump ropes made of leather, plastic, and other materials
The main difference lies in the material used. Jump ropes are available in leather, metal, vinyl, and plastic.
A leather jump rope is a good choice because it has a heavier construction, making it easier to jump with and less prone to curling than the plastic version. Plastic and vinyl are therefore somewhat lighter, but also a little cheaper.
Another point to consider when buying jump ropes is the handle. A good jump rope is most comfortable to use when the handle is slightly larger. The presence of ball bearings is also beneficial, as they allow the rope to rotate smoothly.
What can you use a jump rope for?
Jumping rope has been around for centuries! It is known as a children's game featuring familiar songs.
In recent decades, it has increasingly been used by adults, for example in the sport known as Rope Skipping. You can use it to lose weight quickly, for example, as well as train your fitness and muscles.
It has been used in boxing for years because the results become visible quickly, especially in terms of conditioning and the leg muscles. You can make it enjoyable for yourself with various exercises.
Using ankle weights, for example, can also make an exercise more challenging and effective. There are even special training schedules that allow you to keep track of this.
