Rico Verhoeven steps back into the ring at Glory Collision 6

Rico Verhoeven will make his long-awaited return to GLORY on November 4th. The world champion will defend his title at the Collision 6 event in the GelreDome against the Dutch Nigerian Tariq Osaro, who holds the interim champion title.

As we previously mentioned, Rico Verhoeven was actually supposed to enter the ring last spring against the Croatian Antonio Plazibat. Unfortunately, that was canceled when the 34-year-old Verhoeven suffered a serious knee injury last January.

What followed was months of rehabilitation, but Rico Verhoeven recently received medical clearance to return to the ring. Immediately after, the fight with the seven years younger Osaro was scheduled for Glory Collision 6.

It was a long road back to recovery, but I am finally where I wanted to be. I am so eager to return to the ring. I feel stronger than before. I have a lot of respect for Osaro, but I do have the advantage. Osaro is focused, big, and powerful and has risen very quickly to the top, but there is one thing he doesn’t have, and that is the real championship belt and the experience that comes with a big fight like this.

Rico Verhoeven

We will see who wins this fight and gets to hold the championship belt high, but whether Rico wins or loses... Nothing but praise for this amazing Dutch fighter who has led the top of the kickboxing world for over a decade.
