Protected. Lightweight. Ready for training.

Good shin guards are essential for kickboxing and Muay Thai—they protect your shins and instep during kicks and blocks without restricting your freedom of movement. At Fight2Win, you'll find the right choice for every level and fit.

A selection of shin guards specially designed for women.

Fight2Win has specifically selected the shin guards in this overview for women - with attention to fit, weight and level of protection. From the lightweight XPRT All-Round V1 for beginners to the anatomically shaped Twins SGL7 and the innovative Hayabusa T3 Core Sleeve and Rival SH20 MMA without straps.

The brands in this overview: XPRT Fight Gear, Twins Special, Hayabusa, Booster Fight Gear, King Pro Boxing and Rival.

XPRT All-Round and Pro V3. The best entry-level choice for women.

The XPRT All-Round V1 (cotton, 3 hook-and-loop closures + elastic under the foot) is the most accessible choice - lightweight, with notches in the padding for a better fit from the very first wear. Available from XXS to XL.

The XPRT Pro V3 Midnight (skintex) is a more streamlined pre-shaped model with a hook-and-loop closure and an additional ankle strap behind the Achilles tendon for a non-rotating fit.

Both models are suitable for beginners and recreationalists. The XPRT Pro V3 is also suitable for more advanced users, thanks to the firm protection they provide.

Twins SGL7. Handmade in Thailand. Fight2Win's favorite shin guard.

The Twins SGL7 is the best-selling shin guard in our range - and our personal favorite. Handmade in Thailand, anatomically designed and ultralightweight. The multiple layers of thick padding provide maximum cushioning when kicking and blocking, while the guard is barely noticeable on the leg.

Available in black (XS to XL) and white (M to XL). The double hook & loop closure ensures a secure, non-rotating fit. Suitable for beginners through professionals.

Hayabusa T3 and T3 Core Sleeve. Innovative comfort for the demanding athlete.

Hayabusa offers two excellent options. The T3 Black-Gold features a double hook-and-loop closure with silicone grip that prevents the protector from rotating - combined with thick padding and a lightweight contoured design for a superb fit.

The T3 Core Sleeve takes a completely different approach: no straps or closures, but a compression-knit sleeve that keeps the protector in place. Triple-splint structure with high-density foam, breathable fabric and ultra-lightweight - ideal for women who want maximum freedom of movement without the hassle of hook-and-loop fasteners.

Booster V3 and Rival SH20. For advanced athletes and MMA practitioners.

The Booster V3 (skintex, Made in Thailand) is designed for demanding kickboxers - extra-thick padding at the front for powerful low kicks, a slim anatomical design that feels like a second skin, and two elastic straps (behind the Achilles tendon and under the foot) for a non-rotating fit.

The Rival SH20 MMA is specially developed for MMA and grappling - 2.5 cm thick microfiber padding at the front, a perforated neoprene back for ventilation, and flexible folds in the foot section that move with the foot. Available in S-M and L-XL.

Size guide for women's shin guards. How to choose the right size.

Shin guards are selected based on shin length and circumference. Each product page includes a specific size chart. As a rule of thumb: if you're between two sizes, choose the smaller size for a snug fit that doesn't rotate.

XPRT, Twins, Booster and Hayabusa follow a similar sizing system for shin guards - the size charts on the product pages are the determining factor. The Hayabusa T3 Core Sleeve uses compression and closely follows the circumference of your leg - see the size chart on the product page.

Frequently asked questions — Women's shin guards

Can I also come by to try on and buy shin guards from you right away?

Yes.

You can absolutely come by our showroom to try on shin guards and purchase them right away. That way, you’ll know 100% for sure that you’ll leave the showroom with the right shin guards! Our physical showroom has the same stock as our online store.

There is always a specialist available to help you choose the right shin guard for you and your budget.

Is there a difference between women's and men's shin guards?

No.

There aren't really separate women's or men's shin guards. Shin guards are unisex, but women usually just choose a slightly smaller size of shin guards. These are available in various color combinations.

Women are generally a little shorter than men, so naturally they also need a smaller (and shorter) shin guard.

How long do shin guards last?

With intensive use, most good shin guards last approximately 1 to 1.5 years. After that, most shin guards need replacing.

Their lifespan naturally depends on several factors: maintenance, the quality of the materials used, and the type of training. Cheaper shin guards will not last this long.

Heavy bag training shortens the lifespan of shin guards by an average of six months.

A vulnerable point of every pair of shin guards is the elastic straps. This material naturally stretches over time. It is therefore important to put on your shin guards carefully and not pull hard on the elastic straps.

How should a shin guard fit?

A shin guard should fit snugly around the shin to provide the most effective protection and mobility. A shin guard consists of a safety kick and a shin protector. The part that protects the shin should start just above the ankle and end just below the knee. Ideally, the top strap should sit on the calf, as placing it in the back of the knee can cause irritation or pain.

What does hook-and-loop fastening mean?

A hook-and-loop closure is used on various products in our range, such as punching mitts, body protectors, headgear, and shin guards.

Shin guards most commonly feature this type of closure. Hook and loop means threading a strap through a buckle or loop, then pulling it back and tightening it.

Key benefits:

  • Adjustable fit: Hook-and-loop closures provide a precise fit, accommodate different calf sizes, and ensure that the shin guard stays securely in place during movement.
  • Ease of use: These closures are easy to fasten, making them convenient for quick adjustments, especially during training.
  • Secure closure: When properly fastened, hook-and-loop closures provide a secure and reliable fit, preventing the shin guards from shifting or slipping during sports.
  • Durability: High-quality hook-and-loop closures, such as those on the Twins SGL7 shin guards, are often stitched multiple times for added durability and can withstand frequent use.

Can I use shin guards on the punching bag?

Yes.

If you have bruises or sore shins, using shin guards is an option.

Using shin guards on the punching bag will leave “scuff marks” (stains, stripes, and smudges) on the shin guards and punching bag.
