The story of XPRT Fight Gear begins in 2005. Enthusiastic martial artist and entrepreneur has dreamed for years of a shop full of the finest fighting gear, accessible and affordable for everyone.

With personal experiences through training internships, seminars, competitions, and research, he has gained a clear vision of how to offer martial arts, fighting sports, and fighting gear to a broader audience in the new millennium.

With extensive experience in Thai boxing, boxing, karate, and especially ITF Taekwon-do, Fight2Win takes the first steps toward a complete product range. Initially, exclusively with ITF Taekwon-do uniforms, safety equipment under the brand and website Taekwon-do.nl.

Then follows the slogan: Fight2Win. And finally, with the help of other martial artists and graphic designers, a logo and a name emerge for a groundbreaking and affordable martial arts brand: XPRT Fight Gear!

Polycotton is a fabric made from a blend of cotton and polyester fibers. The fiber ratio can vary, but often 80% polyester and 20% cotton are used in handwraps. In our karate and taekwon-do uniforms, the ratio is usually 65% polyester and 35% cotton.

Polycotton combines the advantages of both materials: the breathability of cotton and the durability and quick-drying properties of polyester.

Why is polycotton used?

• More durable: polyester makes the fabric stronger and more resistant to wear than pure cotton. 
• Wrinkle-resistant: polycotton is much less prone to wrinkling than 100% cotton. This is especially convenient for martial arts uniforms as it requires less ironing.
• Quick-drying: polyester fibers dry faster than cotton, which is useful for sportswear and sports equipment. 
• Economical: polycotton is cheaper than 100% cotton. 
• Versatile: polycotton is suitable for various applications, such as clothing and handwraps.
• More elastic: handwraps are more comfortable with a bit of stretch. 100% cotton has no stretch at all.

What is the background of the XPRT brand?

Yes.

Almost all handwraps in our assortment are (slightly) stretchable. This is necessary to properly wrap the handwraps around your hands.

We have a number of non-stretch handwraps in our assortment. These are actually only suitable for very experienced (kick)boxers or are applied by a specialist.

100% cotton handwraps generally have almost no stretch, which is why almost all "normal" handwraps are a mix of polyester-cotton, nylon-cotton, or polyviscose.

The best way to wash handwraps is by placing them in a laundry bag or bra net and washing them in the washing machine at 30°C or lower. Hand washing is actually even better.

It is important to fasten the Velcro before washing to prevent it from sticking to other clothes or itself. After washing, let the handwraps air dry naturally. Put them not in the dryer, as they can shrink and wrinkle unnecessarily.

• Partially roll up the handwraps and place them in a laundry bag or bra net. 
• Wash the handwraps in the washing machine at a maximum of 30°C or hand wash them.
• Let the handwraps air dry, preferably hanging them out for a long time.
• Do not put the handwraps in the dryer. 

Extra tips:

• Wash the handwraps regularly (after every training) to keep them hygienically clean and fresh.
• You can optionally use a mild detergent, but rinse the handwraps well to avoid soap residue.
• Let the handwraps dry completely after washing before using them again. 

In boxing and kickboxing , training on the punching bag or kicking and punching shields puts a lot of strain on the hands and wrists.Inner gloves and handwraps provide extra protection for the hands, knuckles, and wrists.
