We receive many questions from parents about kickboxing equipment and children’s sizes. They are unsure which sizes they need.
Parents are used to children’s sizes such as size 134, but kickboxing equipment works slightly differently. In this article, we aim to provide a guideline for kickboxing equipment for children and the corresponding children’s sizes.

Sizes for children’s kickboxing equipment: kids boxing gloves, shin guards and kickboxing shorts
Boys’ and girls’ sizes 110 through 128
Size 110 - 5 years
Size 116 - 6 years
Size 122 - 7 years
Size 128 - 8 years
There is a significant difference between brands and the sizes they offer. For example, Twins runs very small, Booster has certain shorts that run very small, while some shorts from XPRT run slightly larger.
We therefore always try to provide a size chart or indication for each brand and product.
Boxing glove size
Children aged 5, 6 and 7 are best suited to 6 oz, while 8-year-olds can choose 8 oz. If your son or daughter is bigger or smaller than their peers, the choice can of course be adjusted.
A good boxing glove choice is the synthetic leather Competitor glove from XPRT, priced at € 30,-. We refer to this as a size, but technically it is the weight of the boxing gloves.
Shin guard size
Children wearing sizes 110 through 128 are best suited to a sock-style shin guard.
We recommend size XXS or XS for children aged 5 and 6, and size S for children aged 7 and 8. Here too, if your child is small or large for their age, the size can be adjusted. The difference in length between XXS, XS and S is always slightly less than 1 cm.
The best choice is the black sock-style shin guard or, for girls, the pink version.
Kickboxing shorts size
We have a large range of kickboxing shorts, but only some of them fit small children particularly well.
We have had many children aged 5 to 8 visit our store, so we know what works and what does not.
For boys and girls, we recommend the shorts from XPRT Fight Gear. Especially the black-and-white, the Fight Girl and the all-black or pink shorts in size XS or XXS fit perfectly. These shorts start at just € 30.
The Booster shorts are also best chosen in size XS. The difference between XS and S is standard across all brands: 1–1.5 cm in both length and width.
Boys’ and girls’ sizes 134 through 152
Size 134 - 9 years
Size 140 - 10 years
Size 146 - 11 years
Size 152 - 12 years
Among children in this age group, differences in height and weight are greater. Our recommendations are therefore always an indication, and if you are unsure, you can always call us or, even better, visit our store.
The glove weight will be either 8 oz or 10 oz. This depends on your son’s or daughter’s build. The shin guard size will be S, and the shorts size will also be S.
