Choosing the right size of shin guards can be quite difficult. You don’t buy shin guards very often, and in addition, shin guard sizes can also vary from one martial arts brand to another.
No problem! We’ll explain how to make sure you choose the right size of shin guards next time.
Choosing the right size of shin guards
There are 2 different ways to choose the right size of shin guards.
You can either use your body height as a reference, or actually measure the length of your shin.
Using this information, you can then see exactly which size of shin guard you need on our shin guard product page (size chart).
Shin guard size based on body height
If you base the size of your shin guards on your body height, a size chart will look roughly like this:
| Up to 150 cm | S |
| 150 to 175 cm | M |
| 175 to 185 cm | L |
| More than 185 cm | XL |
Shin guard size based on shin length
If you base the size of your shin guards on the length of your shin, a size chart will look roughly like this:
| 33 cm | M |
| 36 cm | L |
| 40 cm | XL |
How do I measure my shin?
Measure from the bottom of your knee to the top of your ankle. If the length does not exactly match one in the size chart, choose the nearest shorter length.
The size charts above are provided as an example. Shin guard sizes vary depending on the martial arts brand.
Therefore, always check the product page (size chart) for the shin guards to make sure you are using the correct size chart.
