Top 5 good resolutions for 2023

The end of the year is approaching again, and during this period the same question is always at the center of attention: "Do you have any good resolutions for the new year?" A serious answer often turns out to be surprisingly difficult, which is why we are happy to help you get started. The golden rule for good resolutions? Make sure your resolutions are achievable. It sounds logical, of course, but unrealistic resolutions are still made far too often. The result? People quickly give up.

5 good resolutions for the new year

We are happy to help you get started with the Fight2Win top 5 good resolutions for 2023.

Good resolution 1: Punching bag training

Boxing is really not only for men and advanced athletes. You can box too! Boxing is a HITT workout (High Intensity Interval Training). This means that you continuously train in different heart-rate zones. This is good for your overall body strength, fitness, balance, coordination, fat burning and mind. In addition, boxing is one of the sports in which you burn the most calories, and you can literally punch away your negative feelings and stress. Boxing is therefore good for both body and mind.

By the way, have we already told you that punching bag training is surprisingly fun? You may be thinking: "Boxing? No, that's not for me," but just see what it does to you when you throw a few punches! What's more, you really don't need to become a member of a gym. Punching bag training is perfect for doing at home. You probably have a free spot somewhere to hang a punching bag, so visit our store and choose a great punching bag!

Your good resolution: "Next week, I will start boxing for at least 30 minutes every Monday and Thursday on a punching bag."

Good resolution 2: Eat healthier

This resolution is one of the most frequently mentioned resolutions every year. The problem, however, is that people often have no idea what 'eating healthier' really means. Of course, we all know that vegetables and fruit are healthy, but a diet consisting only of vegetables and fruit is obviously not realistic.

You can eat healthier by following the points below (more often).

  • Eat plenty of vegetables and fruit every day
  • Eat whole-grain products every day
  • Eat legumes such as brown or white beans, chickpeas or lentils at least once a week
  • Eat approximately 3 eggs per week
  • Eat a handful of unsalted nuts every day (peanuts are not nuts)
  • Drink a few glasses of milk or a bowl of yogurt every day (milk or yogurt from animals, soy or other plants)
  • Eat fish once a week (preferably oily fish such as herring, halibut, salmon or mackerel)
  • Eat little red or processed meat such as sausage or cold cuts (red meat is meat from cows, sheep, goats and pigs)
  • Drink few sugary beverages such as juice and soft drinks
  • Eat few products made from white wheat flour, such as white bread, cookies, biscuits and savory snacks

A great list, and certainly 'easier said than done', but here too, set yourself a good resolution that is clear and achievable.

Your good resolution: "Every day, I will start with a bowl of yogurt and a tasty piece of fruit, Tuesday will be fish day, and I will no longer buy sugary drinks."

Good resolution 3: Learn something new

Have you been thinking about trying something new for a while? Why haven't you started yet? Learning something new gives you a great deal of satisfaction. Just give it a try!

Your good resolution: "Before the end of January, I will have taken the first serious step toward actually realizing the idea I've been carrying around for a long time."

Good resolution 4: Worry less

You know the standard response: "Don't worry about it so much!" Nice, but what good does that do? That's just how you are, and you worry about things... But have you ever asked yourself: "Can I actually do anything about it?" If the answer to that question is "No", then what is the point of worrying about it at all?

Logically, you cannot change that kind of attitude easily, but you can make things a little easier for yourself. Do you notice that you are worrying again about something you cannot change? Put on some boxing gloves and punch your frustrations out on a punching bag for 30 minutes. Body and mind... Remember?

Your good resolution: "I will only worry about matters that I actually have an influence on (at that moment)."

Good resolution 5: Enjoy life more

People sometimes say: "A day without laughter is a day wasted." Of course, it's terribly clichéd, but there is certainly some truth to it. Every day of your life should be one that you enjoyed. That is absolutely not realistic, and it also doesn't mean that you have to go all out every day, but if you can look in the mirror at the end of the day and say, "This was a valuable day," then you've done well. A certain Jack once said: "Make each day count."

Your good resolution: "I see every day as a new opportunity to make something of it."

The entire Fight2Win team wishes you every success with your good resolutions and, of course, a wonderful and active new year!
