Frequently asked questions — Adidas gel-wraps

Can I wash gel-wraps?

Yes.

Gel-wraps are best washed in a laundry bag or bra bag at 30°C or lower in the washing machine. Hand washing is actually even better.

It is important to fasten the hook-and-loop closures together before washing to prevent them from catching on other clothes or on each other. After washing, let the gel-wraps air-dry naturally. Do not put them in the dryer, as this may cause them to shrink and crease unnecessarily.

  • Partially roll up the gel-wraps and place them in a laundry bag or bra bag.
  • Wash the gel-wraps in the washing machine at a maximum of 30°C or hand wash them.
  • Let the gel-wraps air-dry, preferably hung out fully extended.
  • Do not put the gel-wraps in the dryer.

Additional tips:

  • Wash the gel-wraps regularly (after every training session) to keep them hygienically clean and fresh.
  • You can use a mild detergent if desired, but rinse the gel-wraps thoroughly to prevent soap residue.
  • Let the gel-wraps dry completely after washing before using them again.

What is neoprene?

Neoprene is a synthetic rubber material.

It is widely used because it is a versatile, safe, and durable material. Neoprene was originally developed to replace rubber and therefore has the same positive properties: flexible and sturdy at the same time.

Neoprene is used in many products, such as gaskets, wetsuits, and laptop sleeves. In the martial arts world, it is used, among other things, for knuckle guards, gelwraps, elbow pads, and knee pads.

What is the background of Adidas as a boxing brand?

Adidas is one of the world's leading sports brands, founded in 1949 in Herzogenaurach, Germany. In addition to football and athletics, Adidas has established a strong position in the world of boxing and martial arts. Adidas boxing equipment is used by professional boxers worldwide and is known for its combination of innovative materials, ergonomic design, and durability. The Speedball Adidas Carbon Black is a good example — made from patented PU3G material and designed in Germany.
