Boxing gloves are not based on standard sizes, but on weight sizes expressed in ounces (oz). The rule of thumb: the heavier the person, the heavier the glove. A heavier glove has more padding and is safer for you and your training partner.
Women generally choose 10 oz or 12 oz, while men choose 14 oz or 16 oz. For Sparring, most clubs require a minimum of 14 oz. Heavyweights choose 16 oz or 18 oz. Always consult the size chart for the specific model—there are differences between brands.
What is the difference between sparring and training gloves?
Sparring gloves have more and softer padding—they are designed for contact with a training partner and protect both you and the other person.

How do I maintain my Boxing gloves?
