Small. Fast. Well protected.

Below, you’ll find everything about the different types of kids shin guards, which model suits your child’s age and skill level, and how to choose the right size.

Lace-up model or pre-shaped—what suits your child

Two types, one choice. The sock-style model (XPRT Competitor V1) slips on like a sock—no Velcro, no fuss, children can put it on themselves. Ideal for ages 5 to 10.

The pre-shaped model (XPRT Pro V3, Booster Champion, King Hexagon) has a rigid protective plate and Velcro closure—for older children or those who have been training longer and need more protection.

XPRT, Booster, or King—three brands, one goal

XPRT offers the widest children's range: sock-style models in almost every color (Competitor V1, Camo V2, Protector V1) as well as pre-shaped models (All-Round V1, Top Shins, Pro V3).

Booster offers sleek Skintex models in XS and S—Champion, Combat, and Marble—for boys and girls.

King Pro Boxing offers the Hexagon Kids: slim, delicate, and available in Black and Black-Gold. Every brand, every level—all in stock.

Choosing the right size – here’s how to do it

As a rule of thumb:

XXS and XS are suitable for approximately ages 5–8,

S for ages 8–11,

M for ages 11–12.

The XPRT sock models start at XXS- the smallest size in our range.

Booster children's models are only available in XS and S but they use a completely different sizing system.

The King Hexagon Kids runs relatively small- choose one size larger than you normally would.

Colors for every child – from neon to camo

The XPRT Competitor V1 is available in black, pink, white, red, blue, yellow, green, and purple- plus the Camo V2 in green, gray, pink, and blue camouflage.

For girls, pink, purple, and camo pink are the most popular choices. For boys, black, blue, and green camouflage.

Booster offers Black-Gold, Black-Pink, and Gold.

King Hexagon Kids in Black and Black-Gold. There is always a color that fits.

Care – never machine wash

Kids shin guards must never be machine-washed - including the polycotton sock models. After training, dry them with a towel, then let them air out completely.

Clean Skintex models (Booster, King, XPRT Pro V3) with a damp cloth.

For stubborn odors: an antibacterial spray such as Sukkiri & Fresh KO - available from Fight2Win.

Never store shin guards folded in half.

Frequently asked questions — Shin guards for kids

Can I also come by to try on and buy shin guards from you right away?

Yes.

You can absolutely come by our showroom to try on shin guards and purchase them right away. That way, you’ll know 100% for sure that you’ll leave the showroom with the right shin guards! Our physical showroom has the same stock as our online store.

There is always a specialist available to help you choose the right shin guard for you and your budget.

How long do shin guards last?

That depends on how often and how intensely you train, how well you let the guards dry, and the condition of the padding. Check that the padding is still evenly distributed, the belts fasten securely, and the guards stay in place. Replace them if the padding has flattened, the covering is torn, or the fastenings no longer hold securely. There is no set lifespan in years for every model.

How should a shin guard fit?

A shin guard should fit snugly around the shin to provide the most effective protection and mobility. A shin guard consists of a safety kick and a shin protector. The part that protects the shin should start just above the ankle and end just below the knee. Ideally, the top strap should sit on the calf, as placing it in the back of the knee can cause irritation or pain.

What does hook-and-loop fastening mean?

Hook-and-loop is the English term for a hook-and-loop fastener: a hook side attaches to a loop side. The term does not by itself mean that a strap is threaded through a buckle or ring.

Some models combine a hook-and-loop fastener with a strap threaded through a loop and pulled back. So check the product’s actual closure. Keep the hook and loop sides clean and replace a worn closure; a hook-and-loop fastener does not guarantee that a protector will never shift.

Can I use shin guards on the punching bag?

Shin guards can cushion contact with the punching bag. Keep in mind, though, that the padding and instep section may wear out faster from friction and leave marks on the bag. Not every model is designed for prolonged bag training. Start slowly and stop if you feel pain; extra protection is no reason to keep training harder.
