Sometimes you’re unable to go to the gym, but you still want to release some energy and stay in shape. Or you simply want to train a bit more on the various aspects involved in almost every martial art: stamina, speed, sharpness, technique, and strength.
You can just train at home or outside in the woods. The best way to train at home with family or your training partner is pads training!
All you need is a pair of punching mitts and a pair of boxing gloves. This way, you can train at home with your father, mother, wife, husband, brother, or sister!
The benefits of pads training are:
- good stamina training
- ideal for clearing your mind
- small investment
- takes up little space
Improving stamina
There are countless ways to work on your stamina. After a good pads training session, you’ll really be exhausted.
By gradually building up and sometimes throwing in fast combinations, you create an interval training. And this is really great for your stamina. So by going fast with combinations, with short rest periods, you build excellent stamina.
You also use many muscle groups. Among others, your arms, shoulders, back, and abdominal muscles are engaged.
Ideal for clearing your mind
Pads training is the best workout to let out some aggression. Of course, you want to enjoy walking outside, sitting on a terrace, and doing other fun things. Unfortunately, that’s not possible. So grab the pads and a pair of boxing gloves and punch out all the pent-up anger. It really works, trust me ;)
Small investment
For pads training, you only need a pair of pads and a pair of gloves. If you go for the cheapest models, you can be ready for just €100!
If you want to take it a bit more seriously, with quality boxing gloves and better pads, you’ll spend over €100. For a nice selection, check out the XPRT Pad Training Set. More on which pads we recommend later.
Takes up little space
Unlike large fitness equipment, a pair of pads and boxing gloves take up very little space.
Easy to store in a closet, and when the crisis is over, you can simply take the pads with you in the car for a workout on the beach or in the woods.
Which punching mitts, armpads, or punching shields should I choose?
We have the right pads for every budget! We distinguish between home use and gym use. At the gym, pads are used intensively every day. If you train at home, you might use the pads a few times a week.
The XPRT Hand Pads V4 Strikeforce are the ideal choice for people who want to train at home without spending too much. These pads are made of skintex, a high-quality synthetic leather.
Recently, more professional versions of these proven pads have come to market: the XPRT Pro Focus Pads FP. These can be tightened more securely with a Velcro closure and have a nice mesh finish for better ventilation.
If you’re willing to spend a bit more, the King Revo pads are highly recommended. They are slightly longer, and due to the curve, you can better absorb punches as a trainer.
They don’t have a closure, so you can quickly put the pads on and take them off. If you want pads with an extra closure, check out the Booster Extreme pads. These are really thick and provide maximum protection!
If you are a personal trainer or simply value high-quality gear, you’ll want Hayabusa and Twins. The Hayabusa hand pads PTS3 feel amazing in the hand, are super light, and great for training.
The Twins Hand Pads... well... simply the best of the best. The price reflects that. This is truly a good and durable investment.
