Thumb loop and hook-and-loop closure – correct wrapping technique for optimal hand protection

Always start wrapping handwraps with the thumb loop — this provides a stable foundation and prevents the handwrap from shifting while punching. Then wrap over the knuckles, between the fingers, and around the wrist for maximum support. The hook-and-loop closure at the end keeps everything securely in place. All Bytomic handwraps are elastic and stretchy. The fabric used contains a small amount of stretch.

What’s the best way to wash Bytomic handwraps?

Bytomic handwraps are best washed in the washing machine at 30°C or lower, placed in a laundry bag or bra wash bag. Hand-washing is actually even better.

It is important to fasten the hook-and-loop closure before washing to prevent it from catching on other clothes or the wraps themselves. After washing, let the handwraps air-dry naturally. Do not put them in the dryer, as this may cause them to shrink and crease unnecessarily.

  • Partially roll up the handwraps and place them in a laundry bag or bra wash bag. 
  • Wash the handwraps in the washing machine at a maximum of 30°C or hand-wash them.
  • Let the handwraps air-dry, preferably hung up at full length.
  • Do not put the handwraps in the dryer. 

Extra tips:

  • Wash the handwraps regularly (after every training session) to keep them hygienically clean and fresh.
  • You can use a mild detergent if desired, but rinse the handwraps thoroughly to prevent soap residue.
