They are really only suitable for highly experienced (kick)boxers or are applied by a specialist.100% cotton handwraps generally have virtually no stretch, which is why almost all “regular” handwraps are a polyester-cotton, nylon-cotton, or polyviscose blend.

Cotton-Nylon blend - why fifty-fifty works

The name refers to the composition: a fifty-fifty blend of Cotton and Nylon. Cotton provides firmness, absorbs moisture and feels comfortable against the skin. Nylon adds the stretch you need for a tight, even wrap around your wrist and knuckles.

Pure Cotton handwraps are stiffer and less forgiving when wrapping. Fully elastic handwraps stretch too much and provide less structural support. The fifty-fifty blend sits exactly in the middle—enough stretch for comfort, enough firmness for protection.

Why handwraps are essential

Handwraps—also known as winds or bandages—are worn always under your boxing gloves. They serve two purposes: they reinforce the small metacarpal bones and wrist joints against the impact of every punch, and they absorb the sweat that builds up inside the glove.

In boxing, kickboxing and Muay Thai, the use of handwraps is strongly recommended—even for beginners. A wrist or knuckle injury caused by not wearing handwraps is one of the most common and most preventable injuries in the sport.

The 450 cm length is the standard for adults and provides enough length for a complete wrap around the fingers, knuckles and wrist. The thumb loop provides a secure starting position, while the hook-and-loop closure keeps the wrap firmly in place. Machine washable at 30 degrees. Supplied as a pair.

Should I use short or long handwraps?

Boxing handwraps come in the two most commonly used standard lengths: 2.5 meters (100") and 4.5 meters (180").

Boxing wraps measuring 2.5 meters are ideal for children and women with smaller hands.

Boxing wraps measuring 4.5 meters are recommended for adults and older children. Of course, adult men and women can also choose to use shorter handwraps.
